Well of course you would as the Cube has only about 5-10 games out for it atm whereas the ps2 has well over 100 and is entering the 2nd generation period of its games whereas the cube has only started with its first gen titles .

i dont think that this battle of consoles will be much differant than the one between the N64 and PSX. How many great games were there for the 64? now compare that number with the PSX. I think you'll find there were more on the PSX. well atleast in my opinion :}

To be fair. Both have good titles, provided you like that kind of thing.

Personally I quite like the look of the gamecube, pikmin / smash brothers / monkey ball all look wonderfully toylike & fun.

I also personally am not a big fan of the ps2, there are a few good games, but most I've played on got boring immensely quickly (gt3, gta3, etc) ... but there we go.

Oh, and as if there wasn't enough reason to get a gamecube, its going to recieve THPS3, which is one of the only reasons to purchase a PS2. And I'm led to believe nintendo have the rights for the resident evil series. Bonus.

Well apparently SXX tricky is better on the ps2 than the GC version so don't hold your hopes up for thps3 plus you can play the ps2 version of tony hawk's 3 online online and you can't with the GC yet,so in a way the GC version is inferior to the ps2 one.
