Anyone have any rvr exerience with Animists?

How did they turn out etc....

Currently considering staring either an animist a ranger or a minstrel (in alb)

Was looking for info on the animist tho, and there seemes to be allmost none whatsoever in the rvr department...
Do they even have a niche in rvr? I know casters suck realy bad nowdays but would an animist contribute anything at all to a group that dont run with the zerg?

only viable RVR spec is arboreal.

Verdent is a pile of fooking shit. Check out the BT spell that you have to cast 9 times to get the whole grp.. Was the same with ablative. (ablative FNF i guess is handy for pve if u cba recasting every 2 mins)

Creeping seemed pointless in terms of DD FNF varience.

The bomber pets can hit hard, But slow casting times and frequent LOS and bugged pathing take their toll.

I guess like everyone says. Pet spam during keep raids and AMG standoffs can be superb. But I couldnt see the animist offering to much in main stream RVR.

Worth reading the 1.62 patch notes though i think there were a few fixes.

far from an expert though. just got a BG animist at lvl 24. Still find it a reasonably fun class to play. But mana consupmtion is a big problem to.

Animist in rvr my experence.

I am 50 arboreal, creeping 19 verdant 7.

Ok as arboreal will stick to my thoughts on what i know.

a) Ok bombers you get a 225 spec body damage. Nice damage out put excellent against rooted or mezz enermy as you can get 2-3 cast b4 enermy know what hit em.
They can also be a real pain as enermy dies b4 bomber reaches target, i cry when i see 2-3 sprites dancing about doing nothing, this happens alot.
My damage cap is 695 on this but hit for anything NP round 335 and normal enermy for 450-550

b) DD life tap get the base line 164 dd 60% life tap, can be useful. can often let u live a second longer

c) Tangler pets (roots) ok atm they not that impressive all the pets are the same what ever the level but in 1.62 the higher pets will root for longer ie last on 48is will root for about 1min. currently they root for 20secs.
Useful for keep takes not really found a use outside this, always worth laying 10-14 of em out when hibbys charge into keep just to be on the safe side.

d) spec pet
Dont use this much in rvr, again will bet better in 1.62 . Atm is does not seem to aggro unless u are hit even if on aggro mode. I have been told this will change in 1.62. With someone with 30ish% body resist will hit for 100-150 damge a nuke

e)Creeping line pet (base)

Ohhh i love these in rvr.
They do not break mezz, i repeat tested and tried on many albs.
Ok they hit for around 100-150 with target 30ish% body resist.
They are fire and forget for life on 2min and u can spawn as many as your mana bar will handle. With my mcl2 and raging power can spawn about 18-20 nice if you can get time to do this in rvr.

f ) other stuff
We get an aoe root in creeping line and single root on base creeping line, they are of little use as they are bombers take too long to hit. Stacking damage is fine with bombers but roots dont seem to work very well.


Ok I gone on enough

Like all casters it can be frustrating, you can either take 2-3 people down or died within the first 5 seconds. I do feel our main edge is the fnf pets as 10 pets will nuke away for 2 mins doing total 1000-1300 over enermys within 1000 units.
I do find that i get most kills after i have died which is a real pain.

BUT IMPORTANT

ANIMIST IS THE MOST GIMPED CLASS FOR SOLO RVR, dont even try it going alone you not got the time to grow garden. There is an option of going mcl and purge but imo your real edge is building bigger and better gardens and spam out as much damage as possible.

I myself am still learning

remember seeing about 10 death spams in 1 minute the other day from you so you aint doing to bad my friend:)

glad you enjoy the class to, theres not many lvl 50 ones about.

sorry state of affars though when about 10 people have lvl 50 animists (prolly less) and about 100 have savages. class balance doesnt really exist in daoc.

Played Animist to RR4 :clap: (not alot) and I enjoy it, tho all groupleaders don't. Any mage is, at the moment, more useful than the Animist for RvR. Mainly, imo, cuz of the bombers travel time, you get your kills stolen and/or they dont hit target intime.
The AoE-ABS debuff can be pretty useful, and if u get the time 1 snare-turret and a DPS-debuff-turret can be a nice combo. The nuke pets (forest heart) is pretty useless unless u attacking/defending keeps. With the changes in 1,62 when they up the bomber travel speed i think they might become good and hopefully welcome to RvR groups.

Patch 1.62 doesn't change the bomber travel speed.
It was tried in one version, but was scraped because bombers lost the ability to stack. And with that the only advantage they had given their slow cast time and detonation delay.

On the animist board there's a poll what Animists want to be changed about bombers.
If there's a clear majority for 1 course of action, there's a good chance Mythic will incorporate it in a later patch.

an animist with moc could be lethal tbh.

lets say the hibbies mez the other grp, normal or insta. animist put up 1 root bomber a bit from himself, and 2 pbaoe bombers at his feet. then when tanks come (first delayed by roots) his char still deals dmg even if he is interrupted. now i havnt seen the dmg in rvr, but i guess it should be ok damage. (downside is that the bombers can be mezzed(right?))

if the hib group gets jumped thou, there isnt much use of an animist unless he got purge and moc

ps. this is just guesses ;)
