If flying on broomsticks was actually possible then I think Quidditch would be the most awesome game ever...but running about clasping a broom between knees (possibly while making appropriate vrooooming noises?) is nothing I want anything to do with and just seems boring.

But then again, to me pretty much all sports are equally dull so what do I know!

...in other news, have just read about a massive ice rink being built locally in the near future, which would be used to host ice hockey matches...now that does appeal to me \o/

If you fail at football or soccer, grab a broom and run. Thoose guys gives Geeks a bad name.

So will we oon see headlines like, Quidditch player badly impaled by broom when opponent missjudged his tackle. :p

You only get impaled by a blunt stick in America/Hollywood.

or more likely...

Quidditch players tackle badly impaled by broomstick as opponent's glasses fell off during an asthma attack, inhaler mistaken for golden snitch; 3 dead, one wounded, no team members ever likely to father children!

they weren't likely to get the chance to father children anyway

No different then running about on a green field, kicking a black&white sphere and faking injury :p

Pretending to be injured is slightly more believable than pretending you can fly
