anyone ever experienced problems playing daoc on university networks?

just after installin everything now and it wont connect to patcher,

its sayin 'error message 201'.

i'm fearing some form of firewall or shit like that,

has anyone ever experienced this and have any suggestions on how to get around this?

the only way to get around it is to speak to the sys admins and see if they can open the ports, any work around will probably be against your computer misuse policy and may potentially result in you not being allowed to finish your studies.

Nope, MMORPGs is the only type of online games I can play from my connection ;x
And yes, probably sum built in firewall your campus ISP has (to prevent ppl from gaming online all day and downloading shat from torrents etcetc)

They usually close it because of illegal traffic, yeah. They're usually not bothered by gaming traffic, though.

Just politely ask them to open up 193.252.123.0/255.255.255.0 for that's GoA's IP range on which the servers are located (both patch and the game servers).

If they want to have more specific details:

Patch Server:
193.252.123.21 port 1280/TCP

Prydwen:
193.252.123.177 port 10622/TCP AND UDP

Excalibur:
193.252.123.33 port 10622/TCP AND UDP

Camlann:
193.252.123.147 port 10622/TCP AND UDP
