Call me selfish, but in an effort to look after Number One, I checked what sort of invlovement Nildram (my ISP) have with Ebone. Was dissapointed to find this snippet in a July 2001 press release:
Nildram have jumped several steps ahead of demand and... a 100Mbps connection has been installed into Ebone.
Bugger. :(

Erk! Anyone know if Blueyonder are involved? :/

Well, this will effect far more than just individual ISPs, but I couldn't find anything mentioning Blueyonder directly.

Inconclusive...

I take back my last reply - I just phoned my ISP and they said they wouldn't be directly affected, but there would be confusion for 30 mins max because "the routers won't know where to look". But it should all be dandy after that. In theory.

Seems reasonable, though they could have updated their routers beforehand. NEVERMIND!

I haven't got a problem since my Cable Modem has been as reliable as fuck all. Stuck on a crappy ISP with a crappy 56k modem. Bloody DHCP.

Great! I can stop hoarding tinned food and get rid of these bloody sandbags. Victory!
