Firstly, this is a crap thread :p
Secondly, I agree in a way, it does. Usually because of the grease they use to cook it. It's kinda like after eating dry food, rather bizarre.
Thirdly, scary avatar :(

Well, i dunno about so called chinese food. But i ate some Thai food, flied lice and stuff, so i asked her (the cook) to give it a tiny bit of hotness into it, i shouldn´t have done.
Guys... NEVER ask thai people to spice up the food. Had to take one spoon at the time, my mouth was burning up. And i only asked for a tiiiny bit of spice, don´t want to know what they call HOT.

I usually ask for extras chillis at my local Chinese take-out. I know the guy who owns & manages the place so I trust him. Been going to him for years. He's one of the good guys. Great food reasonably priced and no hidden nasties...but not all food joints are like that. I think you can get some seriously dodgy Indian restaurants.

It is the MSG, it acts as a diuretic which accounts for the constant thirst. The chinese consume masses of the stuff, isn't great for you either.

Glutamic acid (flavor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Well, not quite that true. Actual Chinese food isn't as MSG'd as you think, in fact it's rather watery. However, their diets are becoming ever more rich - they consume 4 times as much beef as they did 15 years ago per person. That's a scary thought with that population. More methane for global warming to meet demand meights.

That said, bring on the chinese food, you've made me hungry :(

Being watery has nothing to do with the amount of msg, and the amount of msg is dependant on how much the individual restaurant/take away decides to use.
