I am.

I can't even log on with an alt cuz I am always needed somewhere. (damn my loyalty).

I seriously think I am giving this game too much of my time.

I think I may need a break for a while before I end up hating this game forever.

So I am going to try for a week not to log in as Kyra *except for a few things that we have planned already* and I am going to try and reclaim my life sans daoc.

why dont you play but tell your guild you cant promise anything. then you can log in and do what ya like most of the time.

ive fallin out with albion/prydwen and my paladin so i just play easy doing what i like to do, and attending guild events i wish to, (i think my guild understand). its as if im not in the guild but i tag along if i want to.

Not so simple Kladen...

a) i'm a leader of the guild, ie i need to set an example and be around for guild events and for my guild members.

b) we only have 3 active minstrels in my guild right now and 1 of them hurt his hand in hockey so he will be out for a bit. (yup so just Baritone and I, truth isn't playing and singing is on a german server somewhere)

c) i hear mids/hibs at beno/etc and i feel duty-bound to respond.

I will be playing my alts and working on my crafting so I will be around, just not as much.

and yes you guys do know all my alts lol but they are on /anon now so HA! *giggle*

Yes I'm feeling burnt out and a little disillusioned with what mythic have done to minstrels in general. So I just play hib instead. :p

blowing up your CPU helps a lot with "trying to take some time off DAoC" :)

I had moments when I felt utterly burned out myself and retreatet to Midgard Excalibur because there is always someone wanting something from me. But now with a few weeks of forced abstinence I am hungry for playing again. Though I have to admit that I first thought I'd never come back again anyway, I now can't wait until the damned Telekom installs the phone line in my home.

Thank you guys for your kind words.

And thanks for the hug, Gombur/carebear :)

Even Nic has nice words for me... wow, I am touched.

I won't be away too long :)

Hibby is fun, u should try it Kyra.

Lots of golf course like zones followed by more golf course like zones :D very peaceful (im lvl 30 so its obviously very relaxing)
Ppl there also seem to live at a slower pace of life like a retirerment village or somthing, overall its a great place tp play, a happy go lucky place so to speak.

If u do tkae a week off ur very wise thou, take a rest relax, live in the real world (heard there were monsters there with trollies and loads of bags in them that grumble - scary place :p ).

But take a nice break and most of all ENJOY URSELF

Take a proper break Kyra, playing alts is a fatal mistake when you have burnout. I did it and regret it now, after 9 months of playing you need a complete break for at least a week, I am planning on doing just that very soon.

i more or less havent played for two weeks (only very randomly) because my work has kept me busy (oooh this could be the Gold-Build guys.. no sorry .. it wasnt)but i feel now that i cant wait to get back to the game, whereas i was a little hesitant before the "break".

I actually do have a character on Hib Excal, a level 8 (?) bard, named Kyrah. (ohh surprise there, eh?)

It would take something more awful then I can even comprehend to force me to move to hib/mid prydwen. I love my minstrel, my friends, my guild, my alliance and my realm. (OMG Dammit Gombur stop sprinkling me with the happy powder, will ya?!)

I am perfectly happy with Albion, just a few people out there need to get a little more organized perhaps. I do not suffer from the "grass is greener in another realm" (yeah yeah i know hib is green, but you know what i mean) disease where others think that switching realms will make the problems go away. All realms have it, disorganized and/or egomaniacle people who think that they know everything and tell you so.

So for now I am having fun...i can't bring myself to go cold turkey but i am limiting my time which is already doing wonders.

Thank you again for your kind words.

Take a week off and go on holiday to somewhere warm! (Or if you live somewhere warm, then go on holiday to somewhere cold!)

Get some of your friends to create some new anonymous level 1s somewhere and go off and play as a balanced group for a bit - that's quite relaxing.

People can live without their minstrels, honest. Especially if you need some downtime. It'll make the theurgists and sorcerers feel more wanted! (SPEED, you n00b!!!1!!!!!)

I've been taking some time out from Lin also, but will plan to be around more .... sometime.
