..Happened to a few of the old guilds like 'Red Devils' and 'ARToRUS REX'??!
And what other old guilds do you guys remember??!

Lots of the smaller guilds merged into larger ones, Reign of Chaos for example was at the start about 8 smaller guilds that all decided to become one, and later others joined.

Red Dragons them selfs almost merged at the time of ROC being created. Diffcult for small guilds to make it these days but good luck to all of them that stick it out.

Pretty sure the guilds get an ID number which show which number in order created they are, pretty sure this subject has come up before.

If i had to guess GOL would be either first or pretty close to that.

Initial question was what happened to those guilds mate, Not First guild, That was just added as it was kinda in connection too this thread. Just curious as too where they all went when I gave up for a few months.

I remember a guild called "Army of Swedes" or "Swedish Army" or something similar in beta. Was the first guild I´ve seen in my DAOC life and I was pretty impressed about the fancy guildtag and their colors and everything.
Never seen them again after release. Did they move to another realm/server?

A bronze dirk? In patch 1.20 we'd have given our right arm for a bronze dirk, why, I had to level 1-50 using a piece of flint for a sword and a spraggon corpse for a shield!

A piece of flint!!?! Blimey you had it lucky! When *I* levelled up I did so naked with nothing but a firm stare to protect me! aha! And in those days the game was balanced!!!

...threads, I would point out that in the early days there were no flaming swords for Praetorians or Royal Bavarians to run past you *with*.

Though I do remember when being able to afford black dye was like omfwtfg uber leet.

Swedish Legion? ;> must be if u are talking about beta. I was a GM of that guild (had several). those were the days hehe ;D bet the log of guild chat would make for pretty funny reading nowadays so many noobs thinking they know stuff (including me)

Swedish Legion... might be yeah. I honestly can´t remember the exact name, it´s too long. :/

But yeah, black dye was something special back in the days. There was a rumour going that a requirement for joining Royal Bavarians was being level 40 AND having a full set of black dyed armour. OMG! I mean.. like.. you know, a FULL SET!
I had my 5 minutes of fame when I was camping soul harvesters in barrows, in this little tunnel that´s leading to Echo room. All of a sudden, 4-5 high con Royal Bavarians fell out of the sky and died in front of my feet (they´ve obviously been damaged somewhere on their way to the pit). Had to rez them all. Apparently, the had forgotten that this was the day after the patch that introduced falling damage.

Guessed not, was my first roleplay guild here after leaving Swedish Fury. We were at max 5 members but we had great fun. Rhuric and Beodin were my pals back then, sadly they left.

Oh well, The Choir goes much better both in numbers and roleplaying.

Ok ok I thickened it up a little for a juicier story, you got me there Spent quite some time with a Gonzow fella if I remember correctly. I believe his guild was Order of the Azure Bonds. Don't see them around anymore either.

At level 37 I had a nervous breakdown from levelling and moved to Hib/Pryd, but came back 2 months later
