To see the reason why (c)rap is so shite all you have to do is look at one off its icons, Tim Westwood. Believe it or not he gets quite big mentions in most (c)rap albums these days, and he is such a twat. Its a shame he didn't get shot somewhere more vital.

If you want a good example of good british "rapping" look no further than Massive Attack and Tricky. 3D's laidback yet menacing delivery counteracts well with Tricky's near talking on tracks like Karmacoma. Far preferable to the yank's ball grabbing gun toting crack dealing pish any day.

3d rocks :)

By the way, for 'intelligent' rap, look no further than a tribe called quest's early stuff.

Intelligent stuff like "Can I kick it?" ;)

3D does indeed rock. As far as I know, he writes most of MA's stuff, and as such should be proclaimed a genius at every availible opportunity.

Nothing wrong with 'can i kick it' :)
Nah, as with a lot of groups the singles are utter shite in comparison to the album stuff, but i think i'll stop pimping them now :)

As for tu-pac's unreleased material, Dr Dre said he has hundreds of songs that never made albums or he didn't think were suitable for release (i.e shite). So I would assume the same for most artists.

Better producer than rapper. Was unbeatable with NWA.

Tribe Called Quest were fab :) Did you know that their DJ created the crab scratch? He nicked the idea from a european DJ and added bits to it to make it sound better.

Oh ok, I'll shut up.
