The reason why some times when u stand up you go all light headed and normally nearly fall back down, never actually worked it out other then i think it might be a rush of blood causing it or something.

any one? :)

Yes, it's to do with low blood pressure.

I'm diagnosed with having low blood pressure, basicly, it means whenever I stand up, sit down, eat, or excercise, I get all dizzy and lightheaded. You can combat low blood pressure to some extent by eating lots of salt.

It gets bloody annoying after a while.

well... I think everyone have experienced this. It often occurs when you get up fast after you have been lying down. when you stand up fast your current bloodpressure isn't enough to supply the brain with enough blood (oxygen) so for a couple of seconds you feel dizzy until the bloodpressure is "right" again.

So if you stand up fast and feel dizzy.. just lower your head a bit so blood rushes to it again :p

that can be a lack of oxygen also, and having low blood pressure doesn't mean you're unfit

If you have a hot enough bath and stand up fast enough you can actually faint - just make sure there is nothing to fall onto ;)

I'm a freak child, Father's got dangerously high blood pressure, Mother's got really low.

Actually its weird, but my dad's a lot more high strung than my mum. Its like watching one of those 'reaction' websites with the calm picture then the loud noise and the ugly face. Your never quite sure when its going to go off but you know it will and you know watching it happen to others will be fuckin' hilarious ;)

chance on cramps in your muscles during a workout can be lessened by eating enough salt aswell. So I guess it has to do with bloodpressure aswell.

Have a slight problem with it aswell, often cut of bloodcirculation to my legs after sitting behind pc for a while (which is I guess caused by low blood pressure). However I have no real problem with sporting.

DVT is caused by excess tissue fluid collecting in your legs i think

basicly we all know the heart pumps blood around but the plasma in the blood is mainly made from tissue fluid which is pumped round with the blood, however is not pumped 'back' with it - it goes back through another system called the lymph nodes. And the way it gets back is by you moving your muscles, so if you sit down for extended time without moving your legs (eg: 4 hours+) then your feet will actually swell with tissue fluid.

I believe dvt can be caused when taken this to the extreme on sitting totally still for 8 hours+

ever been on a long car journey say 5 hours or so and after like 4 hours you have a high urge to streatch your legs? :)
