Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

[OK]

That's a word-for-word copy of an error message I am getting on only one of the Windows XP user accounts. Anyone know how to solve it?

This is for Internet Explorer but I also get the error when trying to open some other programs.

What are you doing with it when this error appears? Is it while the program opens or while you do something with it?

First off, make sure you've got all of the latest security and bug fixes from Windows Update and try to narrow down what events cause the crash.

Are you implying that it only happens on one user account?

Aye, just thought I'd make doubly sure.

It was, I concede, less an implication and more "actually saying it" but anyway.. heh.

Erm, is there anything stopping you (besides hassle) creating a new user and moving across all the documents and settings?

Might also be worth trying making a new account anyway to see if they problems are still there?
