Any guilds after a Weaponsmith?

I am looking to 'power-level' my chars weaponsmithing, and want to join a guild that will sponsor this.

I'm currently stuck at 155 weaponcraft because it gets so expensive after this (because bronze eq give no more craft rise).

I'd prefer to join a big RvR guild because my main aim in the game is Rvr (Level 11 Shadowblade atm).

If you're really a dedicated crafter, you're going to have to do consignment tasks to fund yourself up to at least 500 or so to prove your willingness to stick it out. You may need to task all the way to 650 (when tasks end) and then spend the money you've earned starting to inch up to 700. I doubt any guild will just shower money onto a stranger who might spend it on powerskilling but might just as well spend it to dye all his armour black and run around the low level dungeon looking uber.

As for joining a guild, I'm sure if you group with other low-levels and show some competence in PvE you will get offers soon enough. If what you are really asking for here is to have a guild sign you up, twink you to the hilt, and then powerlevel you up to 50, well, it's unlikely that that is going to happen.

Ah okay thanks for the advice.

Getting all the way to 650, in my reckoning, will probably take something like 20 hours realtime doing consignments wont it? (Based on me taking 2 hours to get to 150 'power crafting')

I dunno about dedication, but thats insanity (unless you use some sort of auto-bot)!

Much, much longer than that. Weapons take progressively longer to make as you go on, and at 600 you have to start running outside the city to fetch materials (although you have to run back TO the city to do the tasks). I don't know exactly how much time I spent getting to 650, exactly, although I do know that if I was crazy enough to do it over I could do it faster this time, but it was certainly several days real-time.

I don't know about bots, scripts or macros. I have heard that these things exist. I do know that Mythic made the crafting system the way they made it to try and prevent cheaters from powerskilling with macros. I did it the hard way - tasks to 650, and out of my own pocket up to 693 as of this morning. All I can recommend to you is to get a good book, and to learn to craft and navigate your city one-handed while you turn pages with the other. Make sure you really do want to be a crafter before you start this: you have to actually kind of enjoy making weapons for other players that they can't get elsewhere, that's the reward for me, every time someone gives me a /send saying, "OMG THIS NEW SWORD/DAGGER/HAMMER/MACE ROCKS!". I don't know how many weapons there are out there now that say Crafted by: Alrindel on them, a good few I should think. If that doesn't sound appealing to you, then quit now before you go insane, because you can play this game without ever crafting and not miss a thing.

My first char had a pl of 14days. He was a lvl 30 runie with 675 tailoring skill. Till 650 i did tasks. The pl can roughly be divided between levelling and crafting. So 7 days RL to get to 675.

If you think to powerlevel to 700, think twice ;) The term Powerlevel does not apply above 500, because making items takes a hell of a lot of time :) .

With my new tailorcrafter i'm currently at 575 and to make an item takes about 1.5 min. Calculate 4 tries to get 1 skillpoint so 6 min for 1 skill = 10 skillpoints an hour. Exclusive costs of course when you powerlevel. Its expensive.

If you have any further questions don't hesitate to PM ingame :)

eeeek.

Anyway underterred I will still do it. Do you guys actually sell much stuff? I rarely see people selling at the forge in vordheim...

I made a fair number of weapons while I was crafting in the city, just because I was there and people would come and shout, "CAN ANYONE MAKE ME..." Once tasks are finished there is no longer any reason to sit at that forge any more, so unless you actively go out looking for customers, people tend to get what they need from the lower level crafters who are available at the forge. You will find that some of the people you crafted for while you were tasking will remember you and will come looking for you when they need the higher level stuff, and if you get high enough people will get to know you and will refer other friends and guildmates to you. It's not uncommon for me to get random /sends from people saying, "i hear you're a weaponcrafter..." This thread will give you some idea about how things work after that: http://forums.barrysworld.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27112

Note that when we get the new Camelot Chronicles web site, high level crafters will be listed on it for each server and realm, so potential customers will be able to find you more easily.

1. Time: gonna cost you lots of it. pl is 26days 12 hours (approx 8 days spent on lvling and 18days/12hours (454 hours) spent on crafting)

2. Money: Again lots of it. I've spent approx 12 plats to get 931 and will probably need to spent another 12 plats to get to 1035

3. Sales: Sales happen occasionally in Jordheim started by a broadcast. Once you get to my lvl you get a reputation. Thnx to the njessi quest no sales to lvl 22-28. Above that quite good sales as long as you sit your butt down in Gna Faste (malmo/spindel/varulv/raumarik xp parties gather quite often here)

General Advice:

a) x10 to x90 : Cheapest is swords and salvage
b) x90 to x10 : Cheapest is shields and sell these to merchant
c) Working up Leather or Woodworking. Do this with the trinkets below 650 (hinges/brackets/breadboards/curio boxes) and with tailoring/fletching above 650
d) Find something else to do while crafting, you're not able to keep your sanity watching a green bar 20.000 times ;)

Books are a great thing - would wish I had an extra computer (up and running) though, so I could program while crafting :)

Guild sponsoring or a lvl 50 char yourself to farm for money from time to time :)

Yeah but as I understand it even with a lvl 50 gold farming on DF you can only make between 100-150 gold per hour.

Thats one hell of a lot of time...

Guild and personal sponsering.

Thnx Nolby Pride for 6/7 plats, thnx to our alliance who've brought up some of this amount.
Thnx Black Company for 4.5 plats
Thnx Nox for 500g
And thnx to various persons who spontaniously overpaid their weapon to support me

I have to say nolbi pride appeals to me alot - all the people I have grouped with seem helpful and not 11 year old idiots that manage to get 10 mobs aggro'ing on you.

Reckon you could put in a good word for me please jimli (or recruit me yourself if you are high enough rank)?

As I say I have loads of time and inclination to get my weaponcraft up - I have bugger all to do at work all day....

If you are in a guild that can fund you, or you have rich friends, great! If not, you do tasks all the way up to 650 and save your money, then you spend the reserves you built up to go as far as you can (mine took me to 660 but I had spent a lot on other stuff  ) and then you level up to where you can hunt mobs high enough to fund yourself.

Well imo there should be 2 types of weaponsmith;

Solo - does it to make money
Guild - does it for the guild, and maybe to make money FOR THE GUILD

I want to be a guild weaponsmith because I'm not that fussed about making money, but I do want to be a very active guild member.
