Hi folks,
n00bie to the site but long time game player so apologies first and foremost if I'm not supposed to do this kind of post but I just wanted some general help...

My band are based in Glasgow and are desperately looking for a drummer to complete the lineup... main influences are Metallica, Maiden, Megadeth, old skool metal and also nu-metal Linkin Park, Papa Roach, etc...

Anyone in or around Glasgow interesed in picking up stix for us? You can have a listen to our stuff from a few years ago at http://rook.moonfruit.com and contact me from there or PM me here..

Thanks for listening and please feel free to be constructively critical if you think we're mince :)

Being more constructive...don't apologise for posting silver, at least its on topic ;).

I'll check the URL when I get home, gl in finding someone but this isn't the best place to post for band members tbh.

Drummers are fooking mad in my experience. Always the hardest band member to find so you'll put up with more crap from them than the ten a penny guitarists ;).

God memories flooding back now. Maybe one day...

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A DRUMMER AND A DRUM MACHINE?

A DRUM MACHINE YOU ONLY HAVE TO PUNCH THE INFORMATION IN ONCE

HAHAHA etc

I always thought it was the bassists that were the thickest tbh.

Quality stuff guys, appreciate you taking the time to look at the message :)

Xtro, you hit the nail right on the head with the whole drummer attitude thing, that's the main reason we're needing a new one - LoL

They think they're soooooo special ;)

lol I remember one guy turning up for our auditions for a new drummer (this is '89 btw - and for a VERY loud guitar band a la Jesus and Mary Chain).

Bloke turned up in an immaculate suit, introduced himself as Barry Paul, said he did stints on the overnight ferries from Hull to Rotterdam etc. Standing there with our spiky hairdos we wondered WTF he was doing here.

Greatest drummer I ever met. Joined the band for 3 yrs, he looked like he was our dad but would get pissed before gigs and then at the end scrap with anyone he could lay his hands on. Smashed his drums to shit because he lost 20p once. ahhh :)

No offence to you but I gather it's pretty easy to play there now since I'm sure one of my cousins has a band that is playing there soonish, he's 13.

Is he any good though? Maybe he's the Doogie Howser of the drumming world.

God knows, he lives in Liverpool and I really don't fancy a trek up there.

Yeh it's fairly easy to play in the cavern gigs. We are playing in a young band gigs so all we have to do is goto some fellas recording studio and he checks us out.

To goto the proper adult gigs a bit harder i think.

I'd imagine that's what he's playing in then, anyway, good luck to you.
