Any danger

of BW/Game advertising to promote this place? Or is it Games intention to run it into the ground and then relaunch a new service? As it stands I don't think that many will be renewing, I certainly won't. I know that some ,me included, are even finding other more populated forums, so thats the community gone.

Some kind of intelligent truthful answer from a BW/Game suit would be useful.

BY would be better than here atm :(

Edit/ But if the servers fill up then the forums here would improve. If only the suits would do something constructive. The problem really lies in those empty servers.

For your information, we have been working flat out since subs was launched and the fruits of our labour are imminent. Watch this space :)

Wait and see....

Please don't ask anymore at the moment but GAME.net is not being ignored or run into the ground.

Can't say anymore at the moment but Ted may interject (with his class drivel he seems to excel at writing!)

We've been "waiting to see" for quite a while now. Perhaps we could have a timeframe for how long we should wait?

I don't subscribe, etc.

But from what I've seen peeps who do subscribe have been told to wait for about half a year now :(

As Jase said, it is imminent. The problem with giving dates is if things slip.

Trust us we are working flatout to meet the deadline. I really don't know how much more I can say. Go beat up Ted and see what you can get out of him :p

The word "imminent" in our office means:

it might get done but dont count on it untill your hair has gone grey and you have a zimmer frame

Very very soon, the date is set in stone now, so there won't be any slippage.

[Edit : Famous last words ;) ]

To me that would mean either this week, or maybe next week.

Still no comment from Ted :(

So are we talking days, weeks, months?

Throw us a bone ffs.

Aye, I've started reading a couple of other forums which tbh, are much more interesting than this is lately.

Plus they're Manics forums :p

High turnover of members due to suicides then? :)

Nah, not really ;) 'Cult of Richey' fans are all greeted with obscenities, much like newbies are here.

nb: Cult of Richey fans are the fans who go round slashing their arms, make themselves anorexic/bulimic and generally act like tossers thinking they're cool, like Richey!

Well Teds gone now, I can only assume he read this and decided not to bother replying.

Nice work.

I'll close this due to apathy.

The guys have explained above why we cannot give you an exact date, if you cannot accept that then fair enough. I'll be mailing liaisons & admins shortly (talking next few days) to explain things further so that hopefully serves to give you an idea of the timescales we are talking about.

I think not - what our competitors do doesn't really concern us - we have our business model and are sticking to it :)

They have been for some time. Customers lose interest and go to another supplier. You seriously cannot expect us to wait for ever, and wait for what?

It gives the liasons and admins some idea, not us.
"Dear liasons and admins, we will be advertising in 6 months time, thx".

If I fed my customers bull I would expect to lose them. I think that so far we have made allowances, but there is a limit. I'm at mine, and I don't think I'm alone. I paid £12, which is peanuts tbh, I spend more on lunch. So far I've been able to get maybe 4 hours of play on the CS servers, so £3 ph, hardly good value. The time I have managed to play is due to either me or another member rallying to get players on to a server. This should never be necessary.

Aye, this is why I'm yet to sub tbh. I've not played online fps' for a while but now I'm really into IGI2. I won't sub because I know there'll be no one to play against on the servers.

I know the service has been free for a long time but I used the dial up a fair bit and "paid" for using the servers then. (0845 = profit sharing number)

I used to be one of the Tribes league admins and was the community liasion for a bit. I would often set up the BWTL servers for open house fun public games. I REALLY do miss those days (but I don't miss Tribes).

I was initially going to pay for BW p2p but then stopped playing online stuff for a little bit. When I started again I noticed everyone saying how empty the servers were and sad to see its still the same. The only thing tempting me in the slightest to sub is that Summo and co play BF1942 and I would love to get into some clan games for it. Its catch 22 I suppose, won't sub til servers fill up and servers won't fill til people sub...bah :(

I closed it, then Bigfoot opened it then closed it, then Bazerka opened it again. I originally closed it because I was pissed off at Ted looking but not commenting.
