i started a band about 7 months ago and was really into punk music.

our drummer was into heavy music, and then i discovered the wonderful being kurt cobain.

i recently just started to listen to Lost Prophets and System of a Down.

do u know of any bands that are really good and have heavy guitar and drums.

by heavy i dont mean slipknot and stuff such as "im gunna eat yo grandmama's pancreas" etc

Ooof, here we go -

Adema
Korn
NickelBack
Deftones
Fenix TX
Sum 41
Muse
Mudvayne
Pixies (classic band!)
Rage against the machine
Smashing Pumpkins
Spineshank
Staind
Taproot
Tool
A Perfect Circle

Ok, so they arent all in the same vein as Lost Prophets and tbh nothing comes near the quality of SOAD (cept the pixies, n tool) but its all good stuff, try a few out, you wont be dissapointed.

all of the above plus:

ramstein
deftones
propellerheads

and your punk stuff:
New found glory
blink 182 earlier stuff (more funny than anything)
pennywise
feeder (earlier stuff quite punky)
Some other stuff I can't remember
and of course the daddy of punk the sex pistols

I like Limp Bizkit, but I have no idea why. I also liked Muse, and its nothing like what I am into music wise.

There are always groups/individuals who can get fans from other music genres simply by being good.
