I've posted this on a iPod forum - no reply yet - Was wondering if you lot could help in anyway?:)

Well... Atleast, I think its the battery

Hey guys, I think its completely busted - I usually keep it plugged it in my PC when I'm not using it, I turned my PC on and was having difficulties with iTunes not opening - so i had to restart my computer, to try to solve the problem, but this didn't work either.

So i decided to unplug my Ipod as it didn't have the connected sign or anything - just a blacked out screen - now it won't turn on at all, and iTunes popped up as soon as it was disconnected

Thanks guys, I hope you can help!

PS; If there's no way I can fix it - is there any change of me traveling quite a distance to a Apple shop to get it repaired/replaced there?

i'd recommend pink ladys or a classic granny smith.

you tried restoring to factory settings? switch itunes and once its loaded attach your iphone from there, if it doesnt pick it up you can hold the home button and something else (cant remember what, google it) to force it into factory restore. Thats what i would do first personally

It won't turn on - My PC won't accept it - though, out of interest - I put it on my dock ( which i have plugged directly into my PC) and it caused the music to stop until I took it off. :\

If you hold Menu and the Middle button for 10 seconds you will reset the ipod if you still get nothing on screen it sounds dead. If its over a year old it will cost you for a repair so its a judgement call.

sounds like something is wrong with your ipod or your software or the cable.

If it won't turn on after a hard reset then I'd say you've ruined the battery by having it plugged in all the time. They do heat up when charging, even my ipod shuffle does.

You could chance your arm with apple though, they might replace if it's not too old.
