hiyas,
just was wondering to kill some boreness at work,
we HIbs when we lvl we say "Ding", obviously due to the sound we get after having lvled
What do you do Mids?
I have a little char on midgard, excal, so I heard that midding sound, and was wondering?

As a matter of fact we're using the same term "Ding!" as you do =)

Dunno why but it's probably a remain from the old and legendary game "Everquest" which some of us has been playing before.

Bah I hate it when people call a game that's like 2-3 years old at best "old".

It's been around for yonks before that. Just that all the old RPG veterans who moved to EQ used it, and as a result everyone attributed it to EQ.

My friends and I used it while playing FF3 and IRCing around the time of the gulf war. We'd sit on IRC with our unix boxes, and shout -ding- across the channel when we levelled up our fave character. I'm sure it's older than that though, but suffice to say it's been with us for some time and shows no sign of leaving.

But yea we use DING prolly from EQ cuz in that game it really sounded like a "ding"

In midgard it sound like...bumbedebombom lol
