a summary:

of all the authorisation-changes and application-requests that I filled in weeks ago exactly ONE has been done and that is the only one that means nothing at all to me: the changing of my location in our people-database. thus I have no apps and can't log in to anything. great :/

my workstation is a nice pIV. unfortunately it's been gimped with only 128megs of ram and something that seems to be an S3 virge card with 512k of video ram. in other words I'm looking at an 18" tft running in 800x600x16 compatibiliry mode. brill. the other choice is a p200 with an old 22" monitor on it that's so old that it's dot-pitch seems to be about an inch. it's also fixed at 60Hz so looking at it for over a minute will prolly cause my eyes to explode.

I've called the security, application and helpdesk people and I swear that I had the same languid temp on the line each time. He told me that he'd put people 'right on it sir' making me fantasize about soldering irons and nipples.

Anyhoo, I have the day off tomorrow so we'll see the results of peeps being 'right on it' then.
