annoying problem in latest firefox

when typing sometimes i have trouble making the characters :

' and /

(it happened just now and had to copy them from irc, frustrating)

basically when typing a reply on any given forum in firefox, the aforementioned characters bring up the quick find box. is there any way to remap the keys? i am either stupid or i can't see any key settings in the preferences for firefox.

anyone else had this problem? solutions?

not sure how it's happening to be honest, i've been unable to recreate the problem, and the shortcut for the quick find box appears to be set to ctrl+f.
only thing i can think of would be a plugin or some kind of wierd keyboard layout setting.
just to help testing though, what keyboard layout are you using? do you have to press more than one key to get those particular characters? if so, which keys? might help recreating the problem and finding a solution for you

It only happens for me if I move the focus from the text box. As long as I don't click or tab out of the text field it's ok. If the focus is somewhere else on the page then those keys bring up the quick find.

I have the quick find box as well when I just type '/' or '; yet this does not occur when I'm typing in a text box, as I'm doing now. As Syri said, any add-ons installed perhaps? And is it the Firefox 3.0 béta that you're using, or just the 2.3?
