Animal Related Injuries!

I was going to append this to the dogs thread but it hit 3 pages and would have died on its arse.

So anyway, here are mine:

I used to really like dogs, cats, animals in general.

Then when i was about 7-8 i was walking my aunties dog and it went nuts and dragged me along the ground for a few metres.

Then when i was about 14, we went to wales for a weekend to see some relatives, and on the way back we saw this huge liner ship abandoned so my dad said ooh lets go take a look.

Walking alongside it and suddenly this doberman runs out from a kennel we hadnt seen and rips into my dads leg and hung on for about 30 seconds, luckily my the dogs leash was right near the end of its stretch so when my dad punched the dog off, it couldnt bite him again, but he had to go to hospital etc.

Now I have a wariness for most animals.

So anyway, what are yours?

I had an irish wolfhound bite into my shoulder when I was about 13-14. It stood on it's back legs and was taller than me and bit through my t-shirt into my shoulder. It was after this that my mate (the dogs owner) said "oh yeah, he doesn't like red" ........ as I stood shaken, in my bright red, ripped and bloodied t-shirt! lol
The only other bad experience with a dog was coming home from school one day. I knelt on one knee to do my shoe lace up and hearing something behind me I turned to find a dog running out of a drive way, growling and snarling at me. I tried to back off slowly but it was determined to attack and bite me, so in the end I had to whack it with my school bag! It didn't like that much and ran off. I wasn't even wearing red that time heheh.
Both quiet scary experiences, but I still love dogs :)

I was out walking one day and came across this hedgehog that had been run over.

Needless to say it was covered in fleas that immediately jumped onto me and drained my body of nearly all it's blood.

I never recovered. :(

Didnt get injured as such, but my brother found it funny at the time.

We were out walking my grandmas dog, doing the usual stuff, throwing balls etc for it to bring back. As we were walking down a narrow pathway (either side of this dirt track was covered in the standard nettles and thorn bushes etc), my brother decides to throw the ball infront of us. At the time, I was leading, and the dog was following a bit behind. Of course as he let the ball out of his hand and and as it sailed over my head the dog starts its charge. My brother, obviously seeing the dog inbound moves out the way, but neglects to shout any warning to me. The dog runs into the back of my legs, knocking me flying into the air and back onto the ground with a bump. As I'm picking myself up off the floor, to the laughter and cheers comming from my brother, the dog returns, ball in mouth and drops it at my feet for another go.

I was walking in the park and saw a dog literally beating the crap out of another one. So i went over to split them up. Promptly got bitten by the dog i was trying to rescue and still have the scars today.

I left them to it.

Cat on shoulder losing it's grip and holding on for dear life, then falling and taking large parts of my neck with it.

Oooh and my dog in the other thread broke my dads leg by running round a corner and straight through his ankles.

When I was 5 my parents took me to the Isle Of Man for a holiday. I went on a donkey ride in some farmers fields and it bucked me onto a barbed wire fence. Took my parents and the farmer about 40 mins to peel me off.

My dog bit my younger brother when he was younger once. (Maybe it was more of a teeth hit hand issue and brother overreacting...) He's a very friendly dog and wouldn't do anything to hurt anyone. Infact he has actually helped people overcome their fear of dogs.

Then you have other people. They get attacked by a dog and they recover, meanwhile the dog gets put down.

No second chances for a dog.

Makes me sick.

Two incidents for me :(

1] my dad bought me a bottle of poison for running a bar for him at a wedding - put some on our dog took exception to the smell (as did I tbh its horrid) and bit me :(

2] Got flea collars for our cats with ickle bells on. Put them on the two kittens no problems. Their mum came in and heard the jingle and she started to attack her babies :uhoh: I went to grab her she flipped onto her back in my hands and scratched my eye :(

I was once out horseriding with some friends along some woodland trails when the horse I was on suddenly went bonkers and lashed down the trail at a gallop. hanging on for dear life I nearly shat myself heh. after about 500 meters or so it came to itself and slowed to a walk (the original speed) and continued on.
horses are nice animals, but have no idea how big and strong they are, or how scary they can be (imo). eep!
