An unusual day in the realm of Midgard

I was just about to enter Cursed Tomb, as I see this little kobolt roaming not far from it. I walked cloaser, and it said it was a Disoriented Kobolt. I talked to him, and he said some hobgoblins was after him and he didnt know where he was. He kindly asked me to escort him to Ft.Atla. I accepted this task, allways helping a fellow in need. Not long after our embark to Ft.Atla from Cursed Tomb, we get pursued by Angry Hobgoblins. They went straight at the poor little kobolt, but after a tought fight we defeated them, thou the kobolt was severly injured. Nevertheless, we pushed on, fearing another attack from the ruthless hobgoblins. Lucky for us, there never came a second attack, and the kobolt was happy to be back in Ft.Atla, and I was revarded 2,8M xp, witch is quite alot at lvl 26 =)

So, I find my way back to Cursed Tomb, where i battle evil hordes of undead. On my way out, a Cursed Mora drops a scroll;

The Scroll of Eternal Sorrow reads, "Tears and sadness, non life
roams in the tormenting flames, luring the living in cruel traps,
without ever satisfying their desire of revenge, toward the
living, fresh fleshes. Tears and sadness, hot fumes above the
crackled floor, ashes, ashes everywhere. Every footstep as
the last one, ripped apart by the burning bones, tears and
sadness, tears of lava."

I guess it refers to the undead of Muspelheim.

After exeting the wretched tomb, I make my way to Galpen, to replenish my supplies and rest. Not far from Galpen (NW), I spot a very large bear, Grumblebelly, and a dozen feary's flying around him. As I aproach carefully, they take no action to harm me. I left them alone, never killing creatures of the wild unnessasery.

Grumblebelly is part of the (in my opinion) awsome quest, Dark Places Of The Soul (it kicks ass :D)

As for the thing with the kobold, well somthing similar happened to me in Mularn. I see the dwarf, i chat with him, i accept. Suddenly 3 yellow cons come along. Being a shaman, and more to the point an un-buffed shaman i rapidly got shafted.

Missed my DF hunt, lost some XP... i was a little annoyed to say the least :)

I had my lvl 21 thane in Jordheim training up after a nice couple levels of bashing in DF and I heard this kobald beggar giving a spiel about how he was poor and had to feed his five, no make it six children etc.

Anyway, found him hiding at the back of the upstairs room where the Thane trainer is and so I click on him, he tells me he's poor and could I spare him 1 or 2g pieces.

Now being a nice helpful girl, and also having 71g on her from an armour order she'd been holding for my AC shaman, I clicked yes, I would like to help him with some gold.

Instant xp of about the same as in the other post 2.5 mil and the gold content in my pack practically doubled. I had 146g suddenly.

Some of my guildmates found him and tried the same thing without success so it was either a nice left over Easter Egg or was to do with my level (none of the others were lvl 21).

Well, was a jolly nice pressie for me thane at least ;)

Whooooops ;)

If it's any consolation to you, he didn't speak to me at all when I clicked on him a second time after my nice cash donation.

What level chars did you guys have? Perhaps it was level dependent or something. Maybe my little Kigoli has everyone's cash that said yes and gave him some money....

I saw the kobbie following sourcream in jordheim, she must had given him some money apparently, and she brought the beggar to the forge. Now you can imagine the joy of all the crafters having a permanent beggar amongst them, and one you cant even tell off
I spoke to him and gave him a few gold, he unstuck sourcream and started throwing his speeches again at the crafters there. Tried again but he wouldnt stick me. Then i logged my 26 healer and spoke to him again. After that i tried with my lvl 1 vault char but nothing. It must be a random thing, or maybe he waits untill he gathers a random amount of gold untill he repays someone lucky enough to speak to him first.
