When I start my poota after its been off say overnight it boots straight into the BIOS!

Its only started doing this recently and I dunno why? I aint changed anything in there for ages!

When I restart the machine after that it doesnt do it? Only when it been 'cold' for a few hours?

Anyone got an idea?

Sounds like
A: dodgy cmos battery
B: Cmos battery drain jumper is dodgy
C: Cpu jumpers not configured correctly

You processor speed setting must be wrong - thats why the bios has taken you there. What motherboard/processor have you got?

Haven't played with that mobo before, not sure about settings on it.

What settings have you got available for CPU speed?

Actually, thinking about the fact it only does it after sitting for a while - it's probably a duff cmos battery, or a bad connection on the same - this is bad m8!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

How old is your mobo - can you take it back for exchange?

Are you any good at working on the insides? If not, take it to a shop for safety unless you are feeling brave.

It is possible that the bios chip or battery is loose in its socket & just needs pushing home properly!

Ain to bad with playing inside a box :p

I will have a look at pushing it in if not a CR2032 Batt is it? I can pick one up at Maplin and if not will exchange it.

I have just had it switched off whilst I watched the end of the GP and turned it on and it was fine?
