I found I had differences on my last PC between versions which I upgraded from previous versions (which ran great) and versions which I installed from the CD, installed the latest version, and copied across the config files. For some reason the latter ran shit and was capped at 90fps.

What CD do you have? Gold?

Install the game, grab the latest patch (can't remember what it is now, been ages since I played), install that. Then go grab latest version of OSP and install that, same with punkbuster. After that you should be all set to go.

And OSP servers often restrict a lot of options, some admins enable forcemaxfps100 or 125, if they've got a brain. It's because after lots and lots of q3 playing with OSP, most servers are set up decently now so you don't get bandwidth abuse etc etc

You'll need a unique CD-Key too, it will be bound to you via punkbuster so no nortiness

A CD. Updated to latest though and it whinges for a CD no more. Wants a CD key before online play now.

I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed some confdig tweaks. What's the maxfps command fpr a start ? 90fps == teh loose

The textures ming too. A 9800 should be able to handle picmip 0. I'm gonna have to do it. My picmip 5 days are behind me. It makes my brain cry.
