Not really reserached much about this however i seem to remember a few years bak pre SI and everything else just pure daoc there was always talk bout scouts/rangers/hunters having a tracking ability (might just be my imagination) but I thought that it would really be alot of fun to give them something along these lines.

FG's/soloers leave a track that remains for H/R/S to find and track to find these enemies if they are nearby, the trail could last for maybe a couple of minutes and this ability could be RA bgased so Trackign 5 maybe the trail would last 5 minutes or something.

Just thought it would be a fun idea though prob never happen

Nice idea but Impossible to code.
Server needs to keep track of EVERY position of all players in RvR zones and the selectively (i.e. depending on the level of tracking) send the information to the client. As a result, your client would be litteraly flooded with crap when you´re moving through a populated area.

great idea m8, BUT down side would be the data that is sent. how do you thin radar works, it uses similar data that is transfer to the client. and when server keeps track of player where they are, its easy to make a radar type prog(not that i know how). well atleast thats how i understand the workings of a 3rd pary prog.

and hunters?? show me hunters, havent seen eny for quite some time

Would be kind of pointless if you can track someone and they both moved at the same speed. If the archer is stealthing, even worse... no way to ever catch up to your tracked pray. Unless the go afk ofc :)

if they can code a wolf dog pop for hunter that moves towards and enemy thats killed a realmmate...

Then why cant they code a footprint icon instead of a dog that moves towards an enemy whos been in the area??

Its a good idea that would have to be thought out though and balanced.

like a) u cant track unless u been unstealthed for more than 30 seconds and remain unstealthed at all timers while tracking...

b) fairly limited range on the tracking

c) some kind of heads up to someone being tracked that something is on their trail.

who knows...
