How is it that the price of the console varies so wildly depending on what you have with it? e.g. it's 310 quid with Star Wars and 400 quid with SF4.

Is it just a pricing cock up or what?

Those results include playtrade which can have absolutely silly prices.

Most of those bundles are from PlayTrade - so you are buying from a 3rd party, not Play themselves. I would be very wary about buying a console that way.

Ah that makes a bit more sense now. So it's not Play being lazy and not bothering to update prices, it's money grabbing 3rd parties.

My birthday's coming up and I've been asking friends and relatives for play vouchers so I can get a PS3.

So I see that my best option seems to be the 80gig PS3 with Killzone 2 at the moment for 290 quid. Does that sound good? Any cheap places to get the remote control and a second Dual Shock II from?

have you checked the bundles at places like blockbusters, gamestation and GAME first? some very competitive one's around. Or is it too late to get them to give you hard cash instead?

I've already got about 55 quids worth of Play vouchers from Christmas and I wouldn't be surprised if some people have already got me Play vouchers for my birthday already.

I think if you buy from Play Trade you are still covered under Plays conditions etc. If it went wrong then I think Play would fight your corner.
