Alternative to Gamespy

Can anyone recommend an alternative to Gamespy for finding and connecting to online games?

There's Gameranger but I think thats only for the Mac.

Maybe im being silly and maybe this isnt what you mean but ASE is wonderful for that kind of thing (ie connecting to online FPS and other types of games)
