Alliance vs Horde [PvP server]

Hello excali daocers

In a couple of weeks as already know the Final EU beta test is gona be live. So i would like to see what excali daocers like most and why. I set up 2 simply questions here so we can have a draft picture in our minds how would be

1. Alliance or Horde?

2. Why?

2. Personally a like Elf as a race. So where ever they are, i will be

PS: can set up a poll to these questions. I think it will help peeps who havent decided yet what faction will follow.

2. Undead are a really unorthodox concept for a mmorpg, nice to play as the "bad guys" Also, i hope the youngsters will roll alliance (so they can name their elf Leg0las etc).

Personally I think it was a bad idea on Blizzard's part to allow capital letters anywhere in names, as it encourages more of the "leetness" that is apparent in many other games, at least in Daoc you couldnt go that far

Any name containing the word, own, leet, pwnz etc etc will be deleted according too blizzards naming policy. Also seems no famous person, so guess there goes Arnold Swarznegger the Tauren .

Anyway.
Horde and Undead for me. Alliance prob gonna get most of the 12 year olds, so then I can play a Undead mage or warlock alongside the rest of the 20 year+ sociopathic alkoholics =)

so horde for the win, and why?

uhmm, gnomes are lame and stupid, night elfs are all to weak, same goes for humans + they got a terrible taste of clothing, and dwarfs, they're just fun to kill

the horde will overcome ^^

i say i be playing horde imo, but still waiting for the open eu beta to make my final decision. But for all those peeps out there still dunno what they want to play, i collected some info of various sites and i posted them on my personal webspace for my mates to look at. you can read it here . this may help some people in deciding what they wanna play and who's side to play it on.

i will be playing hoarde.

why? because on american beta was mostly ex diablo 2 players who went alliance who didnt know how to group, and didnt see anything wrong with kill stealing.

people who went hoarde were more polite and helpfull. when playing alliance i never got buffed from a passing higher level, and when it was time to kill a boss everyone tried to kill it all at once, where hoarde either waited thier turn or got a group together so everyone got the kill credit.

this may be different on eu, but my whole experiance of playing alliance on us beta has put me off

there's no such thing as kill stealing, the one that gets in the first hit "owns" the mob and as such gets any loot/xp that mob would drop. If you get the first hit in and some llama wants to steal the kill all he'll do is help you

Why? That one is easy! The Alliance is going to be DAoC's Albion! All people under the age of 14 are going to play it. They would all like to be night elves or some other “cool” race that they know about from they only fantasy book/movie they have read/seen, and I do think they all have seen lord of the ring...

Most powerplayers will go Horde due to the racial traits, plus shamens are without a doubt the most popular class.

Horde is already overpopulated on the closed eu servers.

Dosnt take a genius to work out that if everyone go's horde becouse they are to obsessed with comparing things to daoc that horde will in fact become the new, as you all like to put it, Albion.

Yes im planning on going horde aswell, will of the forsaken is to good to pass up.

Just hope theres some alliance to fight :/

It's true, in closed beta if you log into the alliance part of the world you will see a few people about ... log into the bad guys part of the world and you are fighting for your kills with dozens of other people.

As I've said on other threads, however, I have noted that there appear to be more and better quests for my undead characters than for my dwarf toons. May just be my noobishness, but my lowbie undead have progressed way faster than my lowbie dwarves.

Having played us open beta and getting a fair taste of PVP on the PVE server i can tell you that there's about 3 elphs vs 1 horde player. Alliance zergs are just as bad as alb zergs in daoc. but then again, that was US beta and just 1 server...

You mean from being passive and always on - while also not being able to be polymorphed; into an active ability (3 min cooldown) with so-so duration (20 secs) and now being able to be polymorphed? I'd say that's a slight change.

That change is old news, and was unbalanced so needed it.

The 20 secs immunity to fear is nothing to laugh at, since ill probably end up a rogue my job will be to kill the cloth wearers, since two out of three of them have instant fear spells will of the forsaken is very very handy.

Try killing a priest or a warlock with a rogue, you will wish you went undead
