Allergies

Allergic to grass pollen myself, and it's driving me mad atm. Have these pills I'm supposed to take every morning, but doesn't help shit right now.
Nose running etc, and it gets worse if I go outside. Sucks!

Anyone else allergic to anything?

Allergies make my life suck

I'm allergic to all the usual things - animal hair, pollen, dust mites etc etc, and I have the usual allergic reactions (streaming, itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing etc) as well as asthma and eczema that get worse when I'm exposed to allergens. Worst of all is that I have allergic cystitis, which is where I get a lot of bladder pain and discomfort when my allergies go off.

I'm on steroid treatments for my asthma and nasal allergy stuff, and I take benadryl (acrivastine) and hydroxyzine for my bladder which work some of the time, although I'm rarely pain free.

If you get hayfever make sure that you either take your antihistamine pills regularly, or if you're on a nasal steroid (flixonase, beconase, nasacort etc) you will have to be taking it every day for at least a week for it to start working, but when it does work its much better than the pills, as it completely blocks the allergic reaction rather than just limiting it.

I tend to get pretty nasty hayfever around this time of year. Though normally i get some antihistamine from my GP. After looking at the ingredients it seems the prescription stuff is cetirizine dihydrochloride, wheres OTC is just cetirizine hydrochloride. Fuck knows if that makes it stronger

I have had hayfever (ranging from birch to grass) since I was 13.. later on I got fure, some nuts (not all, can still eat cashew and pinuts and some others), carrots, kiwi.

It was so bad, I stayed at home around midsummer.

This year, I havent taken any medication at all.. the birch whent past with out me event notice it... felt strange.. and it has been realy alot of it in the air this year. The grass is prolly at its hight right now.. and Im feeling just midly effects of it.

Im 36 now, have faith guys.. It might, just might be better someday.

I'm only mildly allergic to various foods. I can't eat processed sugars for instance (the cristalized sugars). They make me all nervous, irritated and give me the worst stomach ache. Also shrimp/lobster and onions makes me dash for the bathroom, but those things are easy to work around.

One thing though, that Protoporphyria may go in time according to that website you linked to, and so can hayfever. My brother used to have the latter, but now he's got no problems at all anymore. So there's still hope guys

heh im just using some over the counter shit tbh but it is cetrizine dihydrochloride too. an only 95p in savers
heh suffered from asthma when i was younger now im just stuck with hayfever an a touch of contact dermatitis(allergic to certain fabric conditioners/metals/perfumes brings me out in a rash).

just glad im not allergic to nuts tbh.

I started with hayfever about 5 years ago, funnily enough it has totally stopped this year and I haven't had a single day where it has bothered me. Have even been able to manage to do some gardening. My brother reckons it was the medication I was on for my back pain that was making me hyper-sensitive to dust and pollen so now that I have cut right back on the medication my body has re-adjusted.

It is nice to be able to enjoy the summer again, thats for sure

Oh, as for tablets, I always found Clarytn much much better than the other allergy medication when it comes to hayfever.

have it as well( hayfever) its a pain really..eating thos tablets and they help some...but doesnt take the whole discomfort away at all

so it sucked when i had an eye infection last year and i didnt realise it, kinda sucked

but i guess im kinda lucky not to be allergic to the "normal" things... maybe i ate alot of bugs when i was younger?
