Originally this was from a Japanese game called Zero Wing in the eighties which was extremely badly translated. This was in the days when decent translation was not essential for a good gaming expirience, and therefore not deemed necessary. The entire game was scattered with comments executed in bad grammar, although with impeccable spelling. It turns out that it was translated directly from Japanese through use of a dictionary. I think the game involved a terrible evil alien race, and a sinister character known only as Cats. I believe that the people at the Gamespy forums know more about it than I do, as this was where I found the link. In any case, at one point in the game, this Cats issued the chilling statement 'All your base are belong to us'. You know, I'm sure that Zero Wing was a Japanese developer's pop at the Gulf War conflict - look at the commentry: claims that all bases belong to the enemy (i.e. denying entry to base inspectors), setting up of bombs (for dropping?), statements of "You have no time to escape", and launching "Zigs", which I suppose are supposed to be "Migs"?

Just my mad thoughts. I'm probably barking up the proverbial wrong ceiling.
