Platform games just dont work - esp. when your character is so gay to control - fakk2 was a lot better than this, and even that was flawed a bit on the controller side.

I know it's supposed to be aimed at youger peeps but come on! - how many "kids" are gonna have a pc that good to play it?, let alone want to play it (the age group i assumed from playing was around 2-5)

Maybe it's just me!

It sort of impressed me... showed me that there IS a reason not to have r_picmip set to 5 all the time...

(Just cos it's q3 doesn't mean it's shit, let the game play as if it was a new engine)

Further inspection reveals that it aint as bad as I thought, and the graphics a VERY nice ;o) (btw in the earlier post i meant that i thought, like q3, the graphics were nice, but gameplay poor)

In retrospect, its ok - although its no Deus Ex, nor is it trying to be though (I shouldn't really compare it to that, but DE has gotta be one of the best games ever created - EVER. Even though, ask a consoler and they'll say summin stupid like mario 64 or goldeneye - sorry i h8 the console elitism that occurs.

The one thing that led to my silly 2-3 year age limit comment was that chess piece thingy, where ya have to cross that small area. Although it was a nice addition to the theme of that level (wow graphics are sweet) it was just so lame that i quit and wrote the aforementioned piece

Anyway i gave it another bash, and it seemed ok - i just prefer games where ya need ya noggin a bit more (drrrooooolll Deus Ex )

I've even started to like q3 (i re-installed q2 and realised it wasn't the uber-game i realised it was - memories are bad things!)

Oh, btw - any DE multiplayer servers gonna pop up?

Having... 'acquired' the full game from a m8, I have to say it's pretty damn good... The demo's not the first sections at all, it's a patchwork (though the bsp's are pretty seamless) of sections...

There are some really f**ked up things later in the game, like the march hare
