GA-5AX (Rev 5.x) w/ALi Aladdin V AGPset

Mate, this is the same type of chipset on the P5A that I have had probs with the Geforce GTS 2, someone has made an offer on the GTS2 but wants to fit it to the above board... what do ya think m8?

If ya say it works then I've got a card to post!

I had the same motherboard once...and its complete crap...didnt support any graphics card i put into it..including the voodoo3! i had to use a pci video card to have a stable machine as the agp isnt up to scratch.

I think its to do with the amount of voltage in the agp slot so i doubt it can get the voltage it needs for a geforce if it cant even handle a voodoo!

getting rid of that board was the best thing i ever did!

Well well well... All I can say really is that their ARE people running Ali 5 chipsetted mobo's and GF2 GTS's. Not every mobo is the same, so it may well work faultlessly or may not work @ all.

The solution - try it and see But seeing as he's a fair distance away that's kinda hard to do...

Ask him if he has a decent PSU (i.e. 300w) and that he knows how to work a PC that might need a bit of persuation to peform as it should and if good then just sell it to him. It's not your problem if he hasn't checked if his mobo is compatible with your GF2 GTS anyway
