been wondering for some time really

Midgard is from the nordic mythology

Hibernia is the name of Ireland in the Celtic mythology

Albion is ????

never ever hurt the name in relation to any of the arthurian legends I have come across, can someone clarify ? (personally I think naming it Drumnonia would have been better, but then again I´m a Bernard Cromwell reader ;))

Midgard is also the Norwegian translation of Tolkien's Middle-earth, but I doubt that's where it is from.

In Norse myth, the defensive fortress which the gods build about the middle portion of the earth allotted to men in order to protect mankind from the giants. Midgard ("middle world") is on the same level as Nidavellir (land of the dwarfs), Svartalfheim (land of the dark elves/dwarfs) and Jotunheim (the land of the giants).

In other words it's where the mortal people live. Tolkien liked the idea and used the world in his version of Middle-Earth.
