Hi,
Any albs looking to spec an inf then might I suggest the following specification path :
Stealth
Dont add any points to stealth until level 24. This will auto train you to lvl 6 in stealth from about level 8 onwards. Saving points to add elsewhere e.g slash. Once level 24 get stealth upto around 19/20 (extra point in slash/thrust ???). Beastere's stealth before bonuses is 20 and you can easily get items to get +5 Stealth for this lvl e.g cloak of shades (lvl13 quest), cheshire cat boots (lvl24 otd).
+5 bonus from items = 25 Stealth
Evenom
Envenom of level 20 will allow you with a virulent fishing hook from bwgul fishermen to get access to the level 22 str/con 55points debuff, this coupled with the greater lethal envenom (about 30 +/- damage a tick) will allow you to take down all bar decent tanks. Can usually kill keens/elfs with a failed pa, non spec melee swing/s and let the envenom do the rest, very nice for hit and run tactics.
+2 bonus from items = 22 Envenom
Fast take down combo on blades = Greater lethal on right hand and lesser str/con debuff on left hand and greater lethal yet again on 2 handed slot. This has allowed me to take down 2 enemies at same time. Main PA and left envenom on 1st target and 2 handed envenom on 2nd target. 2 keens dead without much trouble. Even worked on a keen with PA/Envenom and meleed Kroma down (was close and a little lucky though )
If you want to hang around on a tougher target or one with speed then have str/con debuff, imbalance on main 2 weps with greater envenom on 2 handed weapon.
Slash/Thrust
Depending on who you want to cause the most pain to then you choose your spec. If you want SB's like I do then go slash and you'll get damage bonus. Thrust generally is the spec for most infs and has the best lvl 50 attack if you want to lvl your character beyong BG1. My slash skill is 13 without bonuses.
+4 bonus from items (should be +5 but selected different item bonuses for stat increases) = 17 Slash (suggest alternative of dropping a point in stealth to get an extra point for Slash, might try if GOA dont fix respec bug today to test)
Critical Strike
Unless you are trying the merciltraitor spec (dont suggest this at lvl 24 and below) then I'd always get it to level 21 for the lovely perforate artery move. With this, slash spec, envenom I have taken weaker races down in one hit e.g. elfs, keens and rarely a kobold on a high PA attack.
+5 from items = 26 Critical Strike
Dual Wield
Lowest spec'd here with this spec'd to 3 levels. With items I have +4 (maybe 5 will check) = 7 (8)
With the above spec I can honestly say I fear no other stealther as the inf benefits massively from the 2.5xlvl spec points. If another realms stealther can see me before I can see them then theyre most likely gimped elsewhere. There's no class that I really fear with exception to the real heavy tanks (trolls, some dwarfs, firbolgs) oh and enchanters, but if you kill them the pets die too . Nothing better than taking out two of the little buggers and watching their poncy pets slump to the deck . Will try respec out and see if a point in slash and a point out of stealth makes much difference overall.
Anyhow enjoy, if anyone wants the whole item combination I use I'll happiliy provide this also. Base hitpoints when armoured and equipped = 497 buffed 599.
Happy hunting.....
