Asking about the frequency of dual wields.

Does having two same speed weapons increase the frequency of off hand hitting?

Would having a slower main hand weapon in fact decrease my damage output as my dual wield hits slow in frequency?

Well my weapons are 4.2 spd and 3.7 mainly and i hit around 80% of the time or so with both of them and do great damage,i think the higher the DW you have to aslo helps.

Frequency of attack is based upon your DW spec (15%+1%/level I think).
Speed is dependent on which weapon hits. If only one hits it's based upon the speed of that weapon. If both hits it's a random choice between them. It works out better to have two fast similar weapons (Unlike LA where it's better to have a slow main and fast offhand).

I thought that the chances were base 5% and then an additional 0.5% per specced point that you swing the offhand weapon.

That's Block / Parry.
DW is...
The base chance to swing both weapons is 25%, and every time you train in Dual Wield, your chance to swing both weapons is increased by .5%
So at 50 DW you have a 50% chance to DW.
I'm not sure if it's modified by any of your stats though...

There is also a level based bonus to it, maybe around 0.25% per character level.

25% base chance
(DWspec-after-items/2) additional chance
(playerLevel/4) additional chance
Not modified by any stats AFAIK, certainly heavy dex buffs don't seem to raise it.
No idea how style use affects DW chance.

So is the same speed weapon pairing an urban myth?

Can I have a big heavy warhammer and a little dinky hammer together with a massively varied speed and not affect my DW frequency?

But when alls said and done, I'm thinking off repeccing anyway...

Anyone done a mixed damage type merc, slash/thrust etc?

Well i usually use a warhammer and a warmace both crafted for PvE and i do shitloads of damage and hit both together quite often.

Warmace is that the player crafted one? And its off hand?

Oh please don't let me be confused...

Yes its player crafted and useable in both hands with 3 spd.

Woot! And other exclamations of delight.

I can craft those myself. Of course I just need to get to a level where I can actually use them though.
