Just wanting to get the Pryd crew's take on what they think Heretics will be like in Catacombs? Any oppinions, spec suggestions, templates ideas etc etc?

Seems hard to spec these :(
50 Enhance would them pretty nasty (with 360 AF and 30% Absorb buffs and 20% Resist Piercing)
41 rejuv is the monster spawn, useful for RvR i hear.
I'd be tempted to Spec Crush for that 6sec anytime stun chain and a bit of shield. That way your main attacks in RvR would be the focus DD's but you could hold your own in melee

Spellcrafting one of these would suck, you could only have a Max of 6% magical damage unless they make a ML10 Mace/Flail with +% Magical damage
I'd deffo try to get a tablet and jacinas in the template if it was possible (20% piercing would be very nice)

If i was going to make one, i'd focus on the Spells etc rather than going for Slam and Levi

Nothing to do with speccing them or opting them or any of that... just personal opinion as well.... I have a level 24 Heretic on a US server and I'm having a giggle of a time... speccing is a pain but getting guard is a good thing as two heretics crossguarding is fun!

47 Rejuve - Deceint casting
50 Enhance - Best Self buffs, Absorb Spell Peirce etc
15 Crush - 6 Sec stun chain - Access to tireless - Quite a few usefull weps already about with + heal % etc
29 Shield - 7 Sec stun off block - Rear 6 sec stun

Dont see much point in going fight spec since Friar and Reever both would do a better job.

For RvR BL tic should do ok as an interupt machine/back up healer.

heretics own 10% piercing doesnt stack so no point with it on items..

levi flex spec would b fun .. but tbh there WS table is low so if u want levi roll a reaver imo ... still fun solo duo on a heretank so i hear but not great for groups.

im going 50 rej 50 enhance 15 crush rest sheild

at moment heretic's are v underpowered compared to the warlock or vamp but still shoudl b fun to play

at above rr5 i belive they will b a good addition to group rvr as there RR5 ablity is all magic damage reduced to 25% foir 45 sec's ( maybe 30 i cant remember) this is group based but only effects no ranged members .. tanks etc.. i suspose it acts a bit like old cleric BoF vs magic..

also they get a lota toys when RA's are concerned .. PD BaoD DI will mean at high lvl these suckers can really keep a grp alive.

down sides imo are
focus spells .. u gota stand still and the effects comming from your hands when fired make u a vv quick target.
no spread heal .

also as bubble said SC is a nightmare..
soo many toA stats that will help u

this is my template but not final as i dont need high dex for focus spells
focus is hard caped and dex doesnt effect cast spd .. nor does %cast speed on items .. im hoping thsi will change :/

Assuming you go 50enh (cant see why you wouldnt be at least high 40's) Wild, no need for +enhance. I would prolly take 11 shield instead, make the guard a little better :)

The rr5 ra also stacks with BoaD which is nice, also 1k af + pd5 would be fun :) Heretic is gonna be hard pushed to fit into alb groups (proper fixed groups, not pickup) as it cannot really replace a cleric anymore than a friar can and damage output takes time to get up. I'll probably roll one but I think its going to end up in the necro category eventually -> can be fun to play in certain situations but ultimatly people will take next to anything for a group before you. For the first few weeks it'll be kinda fotm like it is in the US but even there ppl are struggling for groups.

Would have been a fun class in mid/hib but given a sorc cleric cleric cab merc theurg are your usual wanted classes in a group that leaves heretic/mincer/wiz/2nd cab/2nd sorc/2nd theurg/pally/arseman/necro(laugh)/reaver/2nd merc/friar available for 2 spots. And unless its a high rr heretic I think i would prefer any of those over it which sucks ass really :<

will be more usefull than a friar healing wise coz easy to swap from casting damage > casting heals ... whereas friars melee>casting is a lot harder .. but u lose ST and resists ..

and aye i can see a spot for em in balenced rvr grps but only at rr6 + tbh
