I've already posted gratz to Albs on another thread.

However, I can't help chuckling.

With the Hibs having taken a power relic during the night when everyone was tucked up in bed and the Albs going for an early raid today we are down to four relics.

2 power + 2 Strength.

Oh, and uber guards again.

Nice one. Now we have the best of both worlds thanks to the Albs and Hibs - bonus to power and strength and got our guards back.

Of course, it may have changed, I had to log at lunchtime.

I don't think you'll find all that many Mids very upset ;)

Early morning raids, valid but not very honourable nor skilled in my opinion. Then again, I suppose it takes certain amount of organizing to get people to wake up early.
I won't complain but I won't congragulate Albs for this either since in my opinion it isn't skilled. Feel free to think otherwise. Some people might feel that using stealthers on inner doors is unskilled also even if I don't think so :)

I really can't belive Albs failing their RR's would be simply down to spies and blabbers. I know for sure our alliance does not act based on any information received non-valid way.
Indeed almost all enemy RR's on Mid have been spotted in Odin's by the dutiful Mid stealthers and other people who go and guard our frontier even if it might be quiet there at whiles.

When Mids have been raiding in Albion, we haven't run to any Albs on the way and have been able to get to Excalibur unnoticed.
It's not our fault Albs don't keep watch at Hadrian's even though we don't mind them not doing so :)

I enjoyed having all six relics, of course, it was obvious we couldn't keep them forever and while we had them, I had loads of fun defending them against both Albs and Hibs almost non-stop :)

The way relics are now couldn't be much better for Mids really, no bonuses for Albs or Hibs but we have +10% both.
I wouldn't go as far as to make plans about defending one and letting someone have other based on what would be "best" for realm but the way they ended up now is nice neverthless :)

And look on the bright side Mids, after a while, we get to raid Albion and Hibernia again :)

I didn't like having all 6 relics anyway. Those 20% bonuses meant that I was actually dealing some damage, and if I wanted to deal damage I wouldn't have rolled a thane :p

I find using buffbots also not very honourable nor skilled, nevertheless the boards are filled with ppl getting to RR8-10, and everybody is cheering at them, while some of them are known to have buffbots

anyhow... for the last 2 weeks we albs tried 2-3 prime time relic raids. I said "tried" because all of them failed. Either we got whiped at the keep or we never got there. A few days ago we took hlid, the plan was to hold it and have RR hours later... but mids showed up with 170 man.

After all those failed raids (which imo failed NOT because of spies or RR blabbers on irc) it was time for the sneaky approach, like it or not. Sure alarmclock raids aren't really honourable, but thats how games and wars are played

The tables turned in World War II when the allies landed on the beaches of Normandy in stormy weather. Germans expected the invasion in Calais, prob during good weather.
Wars are often won by using sneaky techniques and attacking your opponent when he's on his weakest or by attacking his weak spot.
Alarmclock raids are every realms achillesheel when it comes to Relics. And because you know that, you should try to protect that weakness

You're right there. I actually feel pretty much same way about buffbots and "alarm clock" raids.
You won't find me congratulating those people much, just like I don't congratulate albs on this raid :)

But yes, both examples are valid all the same.

I also can't say that I've never been on early raid even though I didn't use alarm clock that time.

Mids whine about things, as usual, they did many times in the past (over 10+ RR from times arround 2am or 5am on weekdays)

Now 1 alarmclock raid on Mids, who had such an ego boost they just forgot Albs also could strike back, and it's Albs being the badguys. Now it could be me, but any respec left for Mids, if there actually was any, is completely gone now:m00:

alarmclocks raids, every realm has done them
and every realms whines about things they don't like, so its not only mid

TBH i dont blame albs much for doing early morning raids when you have IRC blabbers telling everyone to login to defend <eyes Blejs for doing it earlier on hibs relic raid..> .

Lame but the only way nowadays....

and albs never whine about any mid relic raid, primetime or not :rolleyes:

anyway, i dont mind early morning raids as theres no way in hell im gonna get up that early just for a relic, whether to attack or defend :p
