Think its a 360 only game. I've just done chapter 1 and like it, its a survival horror game.

It's alright, not as brilliant as hype would have you believe but it's still fun to play through. Dunno why it took em 5 years to release tho.

Just finished chapter 2 and what a great game it is. Playing it with 5.1 surround sound headphones bloody scary as hell lol a great survival horror which that genre has been very short of for a while now.

Rumors are of a PC release in 6 months or so.

Most of the reviews have said its good, but too short. I may get it 2nd hand or wait for the PC release.

Really enjoying it so far. Blows out of the water most games I've played this year including Final Fantasy (YAWN!) and Heavy Rain.

Yeah its just a really brilliant and fun game so far, people moan its linear but it was never advertised as a free roamer so I really don't understand that criticism.

If you want the best survival horror with a really good story line to come out in the last 5 years then buy the game It's easily a 9/10.

If you consider Alan Wake to be the best survival horror to have come out in the last 5 years then that's a shocking indictment on survival horrors. It maybe works for the first 2 levels or so but after that it's just a slog along a linear path shining your torch at things until they absorb enough light and you can shoot them. Anything mildly suprising is spoiled by the fact that the manuscripts tell you everything that's gonna happen beforehand and the game throwing a thousand hints at you that something "scary" is about to happen.

As for the story line, it's alright but it's no masterpiece. The Twilight Zone parodies are a nice touch but the entire thing sounds like a plot straight out of there.

The above isn't too say I didn't enjoy the game, I did. But it's certainly not a "must buy" game.

Disagree, I really do think its a must have game. Not been glued to a game like this for years. I'd much rather have something short and gripping over a final fantasy marathon which is as much fun as chewing a brick at gunpoint.

Will have to get to grips with the downloadable content later, fantastic stuff.

100% agree I've been playing this game whenever I can and even my partner has been interested to see what happens.

Just done the farm and the stage fight was great fun. I also love the radio shows and tv shows little touches like that I love.

It dragged on a bit at the end. I just finished Splinter Cell and this, both great stories but I would say buy Splinter Cell first.

splinter cell was awesome.

This game is good but I don't believe it's anyway near as good as the hype seems to be. The story is starting to get predictable now too, basically whatever is going on you can bet that something will happen that results in Alan ending up in the woods, in the dark, by himself, again. I know that's kind of the idea of the game but surely it's a little too repetative.

This is pretty much what I thought. It was interesting to start but then just became very repetitive. The only reason you keep playing is to see if the story actually goes anyway, not because the gameplay is engaging.

I thought the gameplay was fun, had some of the stand out Xbox 360 moments for me.

The battle on the Gods of Asgard set was awesome! Didn't want it to end. Crossing the bridge with all the poltergeist style enemies towards the end of the game was also great, and rather blinking difficult.

I loved the sci-fi episodes on tv, and the radio shows too. Was surprised to see that I'd missed a lot of both, will have to replay and get them all.

ending = gay

Seriously I started every level with oh god not again, that's not a good sign for a game. Just wanted to see the story through towards the end, just finished it and really don't see the point now. Certainly not worth playing again really, but I can see it being a real fanboy game.

Playing through this at the moment and really enjoying it. Very atmospheric and loving the radio/tv bits and the episodic way its put together.

just had this for a week from blockbusters, awesome game but it really doesn't feel like a survival horror at all, more like a shenmue/max payne crossover. defo worth a play through even if it's crazy repetative, would've been a classic if you could roam around town and stuff and it wasn't just section after section

p.s finished it with my gf and lil sister, we're a bunch of mongs but we didn't get the ending XD
