I had a trapped nerve in my back the other week, i necked a load of painkillers and the pain was gone within 2 days.

So, perhaps it was just a trapped nerve :p

having done something odd to my neck/upper back today the advice from my boss was to put ice on it, while horrified at the idea of getting ice on my skin (i'm a cold creature any hoo, with ice its like BRR!) i decided to try it just incase she came round to check up on me, found out i'd disobeyed her and fired me (the minds a funny thing)

it actually works quite well, apparantly ice is just the job for relieving swelling which when you think about it (bag of frozen peas on a black eye, cold water on your nads) it does reduce swellings so just thought this might come in handy for future reference

oh and also this site may be useful to some:

Simple neck exercises for neck pain | The Physiotherapy Site

has all sorts of stuff on there for aches and pains in the whole body not just the neck.
