Right as part of my spending spree today i thought i'd give this a whirl. Thankfully from EB so i can get my money back if need be...

anywho, gone thru about 3 missions so far and it ain't good - control system is just plain wrong. Graphics ain't too bad, the FPS part of it is just doesn't feel right sadly - just played the first car chase level and thats quite smart.

I reckon it could've been a real classic, some of the smart touches in their do work - music builds up quite well.

Anyone else rate/hate this game?

cos i think i'll take it back tomorrow - maybe i was expecting too much but it don't even come close to Goldeneye.

Problem with that game and other Bond games is they'll always be compared to Goldeneye, as every knows it was one of the best games ever and thus its never really gonna be bettered.

Agent under fire rocks in my opinion. But then, I hated Goldeneye.

don't get me wrong, i don't hate the game - but i've had years of memorable 4 player matches in goldeneye and i feel that the game suits the N64 joypad.

Maybe i didn't stick with AUF for long enough but ah well - i took it back today and got THPS3 and it's bloomin excellent. Ain't played the series before, started playing earlier and time flew! :)

just gotta learn how to Ollie like a good un :D

i agree with Bodhi in saying goldeneye is not that good, the controller was the main factor that ruined it for me :/, after years (3) of use witha PSX joypad, the N64 seemed out of place, confusing and difficult to get to grips with :/

I quote (Maxim)

James Bond - nice character, shame about the game. This mixes several game styles with minimal success. The 4 player death matches are the best, but in all, only so -so, Mr Bond.

only 2 stars out of 5, they loved alien vs predator 2 though. :)

Strange a mens mag recommending a PC game over a PS2 game, is the PC getting cool :D

Not played it myself, but goldeneye was well addictive, the best rush since playing rambo 3 on the megadrive.

maybe thats what it is then, that i was so used to playing these FPS games on my N64 - on my old playstation it was mainly for racing games.

Nah i brought it for £44.99p mainly just to try it out - as EB do the money back thing. Now that i like it, i've just this second ordered it from http://194.193.248.144/Play247.asp?page=title&r=PS2&title=96670

for 30quid, even tho it's out of stock - i'm planning on taking my EB copy back next weekend and get a refund, by then hopefully it will have arrived.

sounds confusing i know but it'll save me 15quid :D
