The purpose of aftershave is to make birds think "fuck, he's smells nice". I use Aqua di Gio (Armani) and it fucking works a treat. Good looks also help, but at heart nobody likes a smelly bastard, even if he looks like Brad Pitt.

oh and lets not forget the other reason some people use it.
They put so much on you can smell it on the other side of the building!!1 Never over do it. Personaly I use Davidoff - clearwater

Aftershave is supposed to look after ya skin after you have shaved, nice bit of moistening and soothing after dragging that sharp metal across it. If it don't do that it's just perfume - in which case all the replies above are accurate. Course, blokes can't call it perfume cos that's girly, so they call it aftershave or cologne.

God this is boring... who asked this anyway

Hehe, I rarely wear aftershave, only if I'm getting dolled up for somewhere special.

Which isn't often tbh :D

I prefer to let my pheromones do their job.

;)

It soothes your skin and closes your pores after shaving. Cold water and a bit of moisteriser will do this, and sting a lot less (and probably smell a lot better).

it also acts as an antiseptic to any nicks and grazes.

Word to the wise -
Rule 1
do not apply aftershave when naked

Rule 2
do not fondle genitalia after applying.

I have a silly amount of aftershave, probably not helped by having mates that fly around the world alot - meaning I get a lot of duty frees.

Perps top 5 'Pulling' fragrances (these are 100% authenticated)

  • At the top of the list: Lagerfeld - Jako. This has NEVER failed me. Everytime I wear it on a night out, I have them flocking to me like bees to honey. Fantastic fragrance
  • Second in the list, but not by much: Gucci - Rush. Very spicy, and works a treat with the ladies. Almost as effective as Jako.
  • Third: Cacharel pour Homme. Really nice this, not so much a pulling fragrance, but more of a chilling out on a Sunday afternoon with your bird type. Quite peppery
  • Fourth: Dolce & Gabbana - Masculine. Quite a citrus tinge to this, and a lovely fresh fragance. Can work wonders utilised in the right scenarios.
  • Fifth: Paco Rabanne - Paco. Another winner, producing some interesting results with the females. One never to be short of in my collection :)

Heh, Lagerfeld Jako works so well (it helped to nab me my current GF) that she's almost forbidden me to wear it because she can't be arsed to deal with all the hassle I get when we're out and about on the town :)

Does that Lagerfeld come in a eau de toilette version as well? Not a fan of aftershave, too much alcohol in it. I'll have a look for it when I go shopping today.

The version I have is Eau de Toilette. I have very little 'Aftershaves' so to speak, as using aftershave on a freshly shaved face is silly. They're almost all eau de toilette :)
