AF bonuses

Just did v quick test, was thinking about redoing template and wanted to check if it was worth cramming AF in there. Got a friendly bainshee to cone bolt while checked damage:

Self AF shield + 0AF from items
--- bolted for 572

Self AF shield + 50AF from items
--- bolted for 572

Self AF shield + 50AF from items + spec AF charge
--- bolted for 506

Self AF shield + 50AF from items + spec AF charge + champ weap charge
--- bolted for 506

Self AF shield + 50AF from items + champ weap charge
--- bolted for 572

Seems only thing to have an effect on bolt damage is spec AF buff. Champ weap 10% AF buff and +AF on template (still) does bugger all.

AFAIK AF effects bolt and melee damage the same way, just bolt damage easier to calculate cos no variability on spec bolts - so would mean AF on template still a waste of time if any of this means shit...

worth it if you can get it in there without losing other crucial things

No self shield then bolt

no self shield + AF then bolt

im thinking somewere on the line that its being capped with self shield... tho im prolly wrong as im not good with the daoc algebra

Will have a play again, trying above and also swapping some +AF on a non-caster. Thinking yeah, it might be something to do with caps on different tiers or something.

Assuming bolts are a valid test for AF and melee damage ofc.

tbh tho sure someone knows the answer, some templates built around getting decent AF bonus in there (wardens for example).

or just sit down and have someone swing away unstyled, while a FoP healer heals the target, and do it with +af, without +af, etc etc, and do 2-3 minuts of each to see average DPS, should also give a good figure..

Yeah, wanted quick answer and avoid parsing logs, averages, etc...too much like hard work. But mebbe I give it a go.
