if its a /level char you should reroll

take a killtask at lvl1
then /level
then do the killtask

you get ~50s or something, plenty horsie rides

if its a normal char go into spraggons den

When you make a /lvl 20 character you can get free arrows from somewhere but i cant remember where from. I think it is in TNN where you get the free armor and weapons, or at your trainer, I am sure i got some when i was in connla, but cant be too certain. :)

Trees are always good exp for rangers. Irewood Saplings near DL, then Young Irewoods also near (ish) DL, then Irewoods in Mount Collory, then maybe Irewood Greenbarks (tho not till lvl 40 or so).

As a ranger I would advice you to stay out of dungeons, unless you wanna spec melee. In any dungeon (apart from lodes CM) you’ll not be able to make full use of your bow, though if you have crap arrows you won’t be able to do anything anywhere. Make some money transfer from you main and invest about 70g into getting fletching at about 540 where you’ll be able to make all types of the best arrows yourself. You’ll find that it’s a great investment in the long run and takes about 5-6 hours to achieve.

For a hunting ground I would recommend you to go to the shaders west of Bann-didein (just north of domnann) they should be blue and yellow to a 20. There is plenty of space to get the max range that you do need, and you also have the possibility to run back to the guards if you can’t deal with the mob (yes, as a ranger you should be prepared to run a lot). Then move to the hippos at droghaid, and later on go to the road to Necht. After 27-28 move to irewoods at connacht, from 32-33 go to collory betweed dagda and scath, 38-44 go to the trees in-front of ailinne, at 45 move down to cm to the lodes pit (another option for 45 onwards is to go to the alb frontier and get some trees there. Best spot I’d recommend is zone area from pennine to sauvage where there are plenty of mobes and no guards go by) For trees always use slash and avoid melee as they have dmg shield, for lodes use crush.

Tree's, tree's, tree's!!

Slow moving, hit like pansies (yes i know rangers now have access to all dmg type arrows) and use slash arrows on em you should be able to drop yellows before they get to melee and oranges with a lil hand-to-hand (if you miss your crit on an orange...i assume you have no bb or decent equiptment...run like fun :)).

An archers best enemy is another archer type or bolt caster as you can outdamage them easily and dont have to worry about melee...at lvl 20 i would suggest trying to find a group in Spraggon Den (over the hill behind Howth, into the vally and turn right 90 degrees, follow the valley along the zone wall to the dungeon)..players at lvl 20 arent fussy about group members and a ranger can easily get a group and lvl to 23/24.

Another possibility is Parth Farm, Dew Sheeries or Faerie Drakes (best to wait till 22-23 for those if your wearing crap kit as they stun).

From lvl 24 leave that horrid place and head back to Howth and stand outside the town facing the lake...turn 45 degrees to your right and walk to the river and follow this to the stone bridge crossing. Cross the river and keep on goin till you see a valley path open-up and follow this opening (dont go up the hill on your right, however, the hill on your left has Dew Sheeries that are easy prey for a ranger, but there is some aggro up there) into a small clearing (on your right you'll see a small camp in the middle of the clearing, at night this spawns Grey Spectres, idea prey for a ranger, and they drop reasonably good cash/items). Follow the path round to your left (skirting the hill that containd Spraggonale's, Dew Sheeries and some sort of hound) and youll see another valley entrance, enter this and follow it till you see a stone cirle filled with Walking Rocks (nb, make sure you have bought CRUSH DAMAGE ARROWS WITH YOU!!), these are non-aggro, move slowly, hit slowly, and dont BaF (Bring a Friend).

A good plan is to kill Walking Rocks by day, then switch to Grey Spectres by night to keep the camp bonuses up.

Once you reach 27ish try Mermen (further down the river past the stone bridge there is a branch to the river that leads to Connla's Well). These drop nice cash items (only keep the necklaces/rings, destroy the other loot as its crap cash) AND a full set of Reinforced armour (drops bit-by-bit) ideal for a ranger.

Also make sure you do the Seeking Glory Quest http://camelot.allakhazam.com/quests.html?realm=Hibernia&cquest=148 for the Siabran Recurve Bow http://camelot.allakhazam.com/item.html?citem=4625 at lvl 20-22, a nice bow that'll keep you entertained till at least lvl 27-30 (on this quest, to get some help with Tangua, try Coruscating Mine, which is very close-by, im sure there will be a high lvl player there who will help if he's too tough...also if you see Slothi at the siab camp, kill him for a nice ring drop http://camelot.allakhazam.com/item.html?citem=4626 , your there anyway, so may as well kill 2 birds with one stone, so to speak).

Sorry i dont have more time to help, im at work atm.

Gl and welcome to hib :)
