ADSL Help

I've been asked to help a small Company with setting up their PC's on a network, and using their new BT ADSL connection.

I've got cable, so I know very little about ADSL, so I have the following questions:

The connection, apparently, comes through a hub/switch (this is the business service) ?

Is the IP address static ?

Is this address NAT 'ed ?

If I connect the PC's to the hub, and it's static IP, can I simply put the default gateway/DNS serves in the clients, or will I have to run WinRoute on a gateway/router PC ?

My immediate feeling would be to connect a Linux box to the hub, to act as gateway/firewall/proxy, etc - waddya reckon ?

I know these are simple questions, and most can be found on the web, but I know some of you guys have done this already.

Cheers in advance.

trust your feelings Luke :)

static, easy as pie. dyn could be a little bit of a b|0tch tho.
be aware that some dsl connex require a login when setting up the connection so that might be a bit wierd. there's a linux-adsl login script [made by a dutch bloke heh] floating around the internet that might help you, but you'd have to take it apart as iirc it's made for a dutch isp. do a search on freshmeat.net for it. failing that google almost never fails. I'll see if I can find it for you or someone might post the link/advice.
Good luck!
