ADSL help plz

Do I absolutely positively have to have a BT line and be a BT customer to get ADSL?

Or are there ISP's that do ADSL without the assistance of BT?

I use Pipex, I get an amazing service from them. I have heard that a couple of people had problems but i think Pipex sorted it.

And the prices are very good and they are going down to about 24 inc vat in April

Oh and I have a friend with BTOW and I get better pings than him

My mate from my Clan is with Pipex, he loves it, not a problem he says, and im on BTo, and i too have not had a problem

My ping on the Scoresheet in CounterStrike is a bit better than his, but he says he doesnt have a ping usin Netgraph..

I'm with Pipex - not had any probs even with the massive amount of new sign ups, and costs £23.72 from April 1st.

Be warned though, no good if you want to play on Jolt UK only clan servers.

Me on PIPEX ADSL and it r0x0r0rs for the money. Cant go wrong IMO.

pipex dsl

Ordered DSL from Pipex on a Thursday, got the DSL modem the following Tuesday, DSL line activated by Wednesday - less than 7 days for the whole whack.

It absolutely brilliant (considering i came from 56k). 60k per sec downloads, 40-ish pings. Can't complain.

I was on about 40/50k with BTo, when i was on Win98

then when i threw Win2000 on, i was hittin 80k

I ordered it before the weekend and I'm just waiting for activation now....oh, and a modem!

modem took about 4 days to come, piss easy to install too...

also, install your drivers first before you plug modem in.. i heard some people havin problems with installin the modem first

I got the micro filters already.

I've got a 4 port router/modem on order from dabs but it doesn't look like it's going to arrive until at least the end of april.

I'm trying to beg/borrow/steal one for the interim.
