The ISP wants "as many people as possible" to sign up to the trial ahead of a commercial launch later in the month. The service - based on ADSL2+ technology - is able to deliver speeds of up to 24 meg.

Pretty limited range though, inside the first kilometre or so it's fine but when you get out to 3, 4, 5 and beyond the rate drops pretty rapidly to speeds closer to what we have now.

We were all talking about this a few months ago. Funny thing is, I signed up my interest in it back then, and have heard nothing since, which doesn't bode well for customer service... I'm still tempted though (£24 for 24Mb and a static IP is a pretty compelling offer) and I'm in an enabled area...

3 out of the 8 key figures including the MD have been to MIT, I wonder at which student party they hatched this idea?

I'm more interested in the fact that 3 outa the 8 key figures were involved in Bostream in sweden and helped it become a highly profitable ISP. At least they should have some sort of experience of how an ISP should be run.
