err.. how do I add transitions in premiere? I've tried adding them but when I try to preview they dont show up. can I have my vid clips on same timeline (video a1 or do they have to be on 1a and 1b?)

you have to render that part of the movie first before you see the actual transition

How about reading the manual, which - of course - came with the CD`s when you bought the software. :D

What Vodka said. If you use Premiere 6.5 or below, you have to render the movie before you can see them. In 7.0 Pro you can preview the transitions, though.

You can preview in 6.5 too!

Go to Project Settings and somewhere in there you can click on realtime preview. That forces premiere to use your ram for previewing.

Vegas > Premiere btw :)
