Acuity cap?, Charisma cap?

Ok another question from ubernoob.

In my mincer temp I would love some acuity cap or charisma cap items.
But the problem I have is the standard items with acuity is allways followed by something like dex, which I dont want and I have yet to see an item with charisma cap.

and I want acuity cap, str con on same item, maybe resists instead.

So I thought, well RoGs are...well...random. So it should be possible to get, but does RoGs even come with acuity caps?? or just standard stat caps?

I can not be the only mincer that ever had this problem. what to do, what to do. So I turn to my fellow albs. help pls. :p

I don't think charisma cap is worth it on a minstrel (unless you want to be one charming motherfooker :D).

Charisma has nothing to do with pet charm only + instrument gives stable pet handling

Charisma = increase damage on shouts

however it seams It's easyer for me to hold a pet with higher charisma...
tested with: lvl 55 pet (can't remember name) 186 charisma 50+13 instrument, and did not loose pet more then 1 time in 40 min.
however same pet with 90 charisma 50+13 instrument I lost pet X number of times untill it actually killed me (cause had to take of armour to get charisma down :) )

so what my tests shows is that charisma has something to do with charming pets, try make tests your self and se if same result.

this was a part of my old template sort of i found there is a few nice cap items here . not using this atm im on better resists now but still 25 cha cap and 400 hits . hope it help u some

You didn't test properly or for long enough if that's your conclusion. ;)

Charisma has no effect on pet charm. If you want to see very quickly what DOES affect pet charm, try the following:

1 - Find a lvl58 charmable mob.
2 - Charm the pet while wearing all your +inst and +char gear (you'll have no problem charming the pet).
3 - Release the pet.
4 - Take off all your +inst and +char gear and try to recharm (you won't succeed).
5 - Wear ONLY your +char gear and try to recharm pet (you won't succeed).
6 - Wear ONLY your +inst gear and try to recharm pet (you'll have no problem).

(Note: you may need to test with a higher lvl pet, depending on your RR)

The situation you describe is completely different. You are talking about holding a charmed pet. I strongly, strongly suspect that your gear has some +duration% bonuses on it... This affects the length of each charm pulse and makes is much less likely that you will lose control over the pet (basically because your pet has to resist 3 charms in a row rather than just 2 in a row when you have zero +duration%). When you took off your gear to get rid of +char, I bet you also got rid of +duration%. End result is a pet that loses charm a lot more frequently.

Lots and lots and lots of testing by many mincers has conclusively shown that the only thing to affect mincer charm is +insts.

To get back on-topic... Why bother with +char/acuity cap for a mincer? Our primary source of damage output is our melee and it's hard enough to overcap str, con, quick, hits and ToA melee bonuses without trying to overcap acuity, too. :D I sense that this statement (mincer's primary source of damage is melee) will cause disagreement, but I'm not going to justify it until I have to. :D

Yes.

Although the ROGs I have seen have had dismal +char cap on them (like +1 or +2). I'm sure higher ones exist, though.
