action quake please help

I'm trying to run action quake.But every time I try it loads an error occurs "couldn't load pics/colormaps.I have the latest versions of everything,this did happen when I was trying to run q2 death matches using quick start (which is running fine now).But I can't remeber what I did.Does any one have any ideas ?.Help would be great.

I had this problem once but my memory isn't what it was! I'm fairly sure I was running Q2 from a shortcut on the desktop. The fix was to right click on the shortcut and make sure the path was correct in "Start in".

yeh I fixed it now.Are bots availible for action quake ?. And have any knowledge (that hasn't evaporated) about maps not being able to load ?.

Oh, also make sure you have the maps in the right places. ALL AQ2 MAPS should be in \quake2\action\maps\ That's all the BSP files. The rest of the pieces should be in the appropriate places.

Go to: http://aqmd.action-web.net/ for any maps you don't have. I recommend going to the Map Packs section and getting uberPAK if you can. Though it's big, so if you're on a modem that might not be a good idea.
