Acoustic Box?

Guys,
I have a problem at work were we need to supply an acoustic box for a dell server, to a customer. Does anyone know where I might find one? They need it because theres quite a lot of kit in the room and peeps sitting near the server so its a health and safety issue.
The foam "cladding" stuff would not be suitable for this application as it would probably invalidate the dell warranty.


Any help would really take away a nightmare

I don't think there's anyone making this kind of thing specifically, all our computers tend to have bespoke boxes around them. Basically a plinth for them to rest on, and then the box itself, they are pretty fucking hefty to allow a maze style air and cable entrance and exit. you may well have to find a local contractor who can work to specification to build you a plywood box that can be lined with heavy felt and depending on the kind of frequencies you are getting out of the server fibreglass or something heavier to trap the bass.

I do believe there are specialist companies out there who make enclosures but as Scooba said might as well just make something out of ply and add some padding.

Agreed.
This implementation has been a nightmare from start to finish. Its a biggy though, and I've already had the commission
Its a military site, and they are soooo backward. They insist that the server goes near people but then complain about the noise,,,shheeesh.

Best policy then is get a box built, if you need specific referrents for acoustic foam or felt I can give you the spec numbers, we have one hefty box at work that records in the same room as a mic, we don't get any pickup on playback, which is nice.

easiest thing would probably be to grab a small rackmount style case that it will stand/fix into and line that with dynamat
