Account swapping ...

Lately there're alot of people who exchange their account with someone from another Realm. For example Middie plays in Albion and an Albion player plays in Midgard.
I know it can be damn boring to run around in the same areas all over again, and the chance to play with a high level char in another Realm is tempting, but please think about with whom you exchange your account, and how to behave during this.
Remember to fight for your new realm, not passing on info to your old one or helping them in a way. You just spoil any efforts of the realm you're in currently.

During our Relic Raid this night, someone kept pulling the uberguards on us. This -could- be lag-run pulls, but since those guards rushed us soon after they spawned, I seriously doubt it.
I saw a few ppl running out, and back in, therefor pulling them on purpose.

Hope you all agree that this ain't a valid tactic in this game.

If you have to swap accounts ... fight for that realm as if it were your own !

*bump*

If it becomes known what middie char did this, ban that char from all events be it in rvr or elsewhere (like dragon). Ostracize him from the community. Sadly, since ppl can hide behind their computer, small insecure idiots get a sence of achievement and power by destroying for others without fear of retribution. This is an online game where your actions have a direct impact upon other people's enjoyment of the game.

Are you absolute sure that the guards were pulled, as I can explicitly remember those uber guards attacking us albs on our first relic attempt while we were attacking the 3rd door.

A few guards will always aggro. Either 'cause the spawn close to the doors, or walk up the slope. But the Guards are spread out in front of the RK, so you shouldn't get a full set of the guards when you're inside.
And when you see ppl running out and coming back with those Guards on their tail ...

On the 2nd Raid again. Some guy ran straight into the guards, his excuse was 'thought there weren't more guards' ...
I just can't believe that someone can be -that- stupid.

But regardless of RK Raids, people who swap their accounts should act to help the realm they're playing in, not their old.

People run out of the keep when they have an archer on them.

Maybe you forgot that.

we're talking of Relic Keep with a bunch load of Uber-Guards waiting outside ... and ppl had been lectured the entire way to RK to not even -face- into that direction. Quite a few more times than only once. Same order was given over and over again once inside.

Hellskor I agree with you, and after being on both recent relic raids I must say I was appalled at the behaviour of (Im extremely pleased to say) a tiny minority of Mids, however, that just goes to show how such behavious can affect so many.

Those who know me know I am committed to RvR, know I give 100pc when playing and am not usually prone to outbursts of any kind but I am so incensed by recent events that I have decided to name and shame. BLOODOMENSWORD you sir are an idiot! You personally ruined the hard work and planning of your realm on the second relic raid. You and everyone else were told repeatedly that once at the keep you hug the wall you do not even LOOK in the direction of the named guards but what do I see once the first wave of scouts, MaAs and assorted other guards and knights has been dealt with...you BLOODOMENSWORD running across the courtyard with the inevitable and very annoying result, a mass pull of named uber guards. There were other witnesses to your idiocy too so please do not think that this is one person pointing a finger at you, most in my group saw you and commented on it immediately. Most of the people involved had given up a great deal of their own time to plan and take part in that second raid, me included and I really do hope that you are proud of yourself for ruining the chance we had to reclaim the relics back with a small force before the servers reset and all the doors that the Albs hadnt been able to repair got auto repaired by said reset.

With regard to the person who kept running in and out on the first raid, you know who you are....I know too because I saw you do it on three separate occasions. The first time I saw you do it I thought you were salvaging ram parts, I asked one of the ram team leaders and was told no, it wasnt a necessity to salvage, so whilst resting rezz sickness I watched you closely. I would name you too but as far as I know I am the only one who does know your name and so I will wait until I do have confirmation before I post it here.

Teador...yes with normal keeps you run as far as you can and hope their range is shorter than your remaining life but on a relly raid sorry I dont agree...it has been my experience that if you have an NPC archer on you then due to their line of sight bug ie they can shoot round corners, through walls, up stairs and even round corners through walls and up stairs all at the same time that its VERY difficult to get rid of an archers interest once they have you in their sights and range. It happened to me on the second raid. I got targetted by one at the very first corner of Excal keep...I was healed 5 times and lifetapped my life back to full twice before the same archer finally killed me and we had turned 2 different corners by then! It seems that they have incredible range and even 100,000 tons of virtual stonework isnt barrier enough for their shots! I think that unless you have a SB who can take the archer out OR run out of range you have to take your lumps and if you die so be it, you die and wait for a rezz...what you DONTdo is try to get out of range by running towards the named uber guards.

And yes Ardwan, it is my honestly held opinion that Albion still has all 3 strength relics because someone was that stupid :(

Hellskor, Im really sorry if Ive gone slightly off topic here and have semihijacked your thread with my rant.

I don't think there would be a prat who swapped accounts and helps alb.

Most people who swapped accounts were lvl 50's and those are some decent players, not lamers.

And yes, we albs ahve a total piss on the fuck-ups at raids. They start yelling orders and walk the wrong way etc. and pull guards without even an order.

Like we arrived at Bledmeer once with 30 people, some lvl 12 armsman had to keep running and pulled all the guards, almost killing our entire force. It just sucks, and there's not much you can do about it. Or Qwegji, who took the relic when we were about to take it.

Our relic raid succeeded cause only a few people were invited, people who listen and know how to play.

The best thing to do is keep the raids among the high level players, and the players from whom you know they will do good.

The reason for this thread is this :
On the first of the recent Raids, we messaged the People privatly, about all 40-50, we broke the first two doors down without any serious resistance, all guard pops were under control, even the Uber-guards charging all the time. We got inside and got the 3rd door down to 25% ... but still those Uberguards charged us, and with a handful of Albs mezzing us, we all died in the end.
Without a full set of those guards, atleast our own relic would be back home by now. The few Albs that came by every now and then, didn't make that much of a difference.
I know there were 50+ Albs after we came back, but if they had come to RK in smaller groups (and that would have happened) they wouldn't have changed anything.

But quite some ppl said there was someone running out and back in, and a few others mentioned that this guy had swapped his account for this day.

As long as ppl remember to play fair, account swapping isn't a problem, but the few who don't screw it up for the other ppl.

Hate to break it to you, reaching level 50 takes no skill, nor social competence or high moral.
All you need is insane ammount of time, and a high boredom treshold.

Hence all lvl 50's are not descent players.

(Although I do not say that many lvl 50 are great ppl :))

IF you don't know how to play, you won't get to 50.

If you let people in your guilds swap accounts then you deserve what you get.

swapping means that you help your friends farm realmpoints by letting them GANK the loaned character repeatedly. It can lead to spying and deliberate guard pulling etc.

I think as a GuildLeader, I'd take a very dim view of account swapping, and I imagine so too would any alliance

If you don't know how to play, you won't get to level 10.

Getting to 50 is not about skill. It's about time and dedication. People kid themselves if they think otherwise. There is bugger all skill in PvE. Just repeatedly doing the same thing over and over and over and over....(RvR actually does have a skill element when all other things are equal).

I'm lvl 45 now, and the only difference between me and one of my lvl 20 guildmates is the amount of time I've played the game and my luck in getting groups in high-XP areas. I will get to lvl 50 sooner or later and it's got nothing to do with my skill improving, and everything to do with whether I can find the time to train rather than running round the frontier or managing the Guild.

The most laughable muppet I know in the game is lvl 50. The worst and most notorious cheat in the game is also lvl 50. There is no - repeat no - causal relationship between level and skill. So I find it entirely believable that a lvl 50 character who swapped his account was stupid enough to pull all the relic guards without any intent to do so.

is he the ultimate gimp, the avalonian paladin? always makes me laugh when i see him in lyonesse, i once asked him "so if you cant hit for anything as you have no str, and you die really quick as you have no con, do you sing well then with all that intelligence?" (yes i know pie = songs :) )

to which he replied "er, what do you mean?"

/me giggles

if its not you then its someone else in your guild, looks rather strange in plate i can tell you :)

amusing names i have seen in the realm:

david beckam
starsky + hutch (i aint seen you two for ages, i know you change names and do the double act, but i miss seeing you guys in a wird way!)
armitage shanks (by far the best name on the server, i salute you PL member)
Nomercy Wizzietank (oh hold on, hes just a tit and thats not amusing ;) )

crap names:

DaFly (who i can only presume is Mckflys alt), dear mckfly, its such a shame you were kicked out of a guild you once told me you ran, even though hlord (whatever his name is :p ) runs it.

froggies is quite funny name for a guild but i have met some real nice poelpe from that guild compared to all the high lvl guilds ( no names being said)

and myshra laughing becuase somone has made a avalonian paladin is kinda sad if you ask me poeple play what they think is fun and all pople can do is laugh at them ..?

yes avalonion's are look kinda funny in plate but thats becuase they are rarely made.

and i do believe this thread was about account swapping but hey.

I thought swapping ment that you lend your account to someone and get to borrow theirs... maybe I got it all wrong?

Seriously, saying that everyone that swaps accounts lets their friends gank them over and over again is more then silly. If just would want to get they could do that with their normal char's? Swapping char's is something I'd think most people do to experience something new/different and hopefully fun rather then to let their friends farm them.

About Froggies

Hi everyone,

About the guild, Krixxer is not the GM, it's me ;)

Well our guild was created by some french friend and me, just to have fun, as we were already hlvl on Ys and Broc server. At that time we wanted to test albion, and there were only two french server... so we came to Pryd.

At first we created this guild only to have fun, this explains the name and the caps ;)

But then, many ppl joined us, and now we're bigger...

Well that's it, sorry to have post here... it was just to explain the things...

Good game,

Sorsha
